どうかなり

i can't figure out what this is supposed to mean. i think it's a set phrase.

i found a couple references but i'm still clueless. :?

頭がどうかなりそうだ= i'm going to go nuts

the original line is from a song:
本当は本当はね
本当はこの頃ずっと
本当は寂しくてどうかなりそうさ
そこにいてよ

there's really no other context. the song is pretty vague in the first place. any idea?

"頭がどうかなる" means "go mad" or "lose one's mind".

What about just どうかなる though ? Any meaning in the phrase itself ? I've seen subete douka naru translated as "everything works out" or "everything comes together" -- but that's the end of my reference trail as well.

Presumably line
(3) いつもの状態と異なっている、変な様子である、といぶかしく思う場合などに使う。

Well, for the original question, yes. But I was speaking more to this:

In this case, (2) would (I believe) be more appropriate:
(2)漠然としたある状態・事柄の実現を期待する気持ちを表す。なんとか。どうにか。
「―して下さい」「―なるさ」

"どうかなる" has two contrast meaning, "possible(success)" and "mad(failure)".

possible(success) instance
A: このラジオは壊れている / This radio is out of order.
B: どうかなる？/ Can you repair it?
This is same as Glenn's explanation.

mad(failure) instance
悲しさのあまり彼女はどうかなってしまった / Grief has turned her brain.
This is same as PaulTB's explanation.
