でも / 伊豆弁 / 色々あって / 当

1. 僕の家族は下田市の出身です。だからしぞーか（静岡）の方言の中でも、伊豆弁をよく使います。

My translation: "My family are from Shimoda. Therefore, we often use Izu dialect, one of the dialects of Shizuoka."

Is this right? I don't really understand the purpose of でも. It would make more sense to me as just で (meaning "among").


2. 「ようこらんしょ」は伊豆弁で「ようこそ」という意味 です。だから、旅館の人はじゅん君達に「いらっしゃい ませ」と言ったんだよ。

My translation: "In Izu dialect, ようこらんしょ means ようこそ. Therefore, the 旅館 host said 「いらっしゃいませ」 to you [Jun and his friends]."

I don't understand the connection between these sentences, or why だから is used. What does one have to do with the other?


3. 伊豆弁には他にも色々あって、標準語とはちょっと違う から難しいかも知れないね。

My translation: "Izu dialect is a little different from standard Japanese in various other ways too, so it can be difficult."

Is 色々 a noun meaning "various things" (in this case "various differences")? Is 他にも色々あって short for 他にも色々があって?


4. (announcement of forthcoming lecture)

・・・当慶応義塾大学にて初講演会が開催されます。

I understand 慶応義塾大学 is the name of the university, so what is the purpose of 当? Does it mean "this" in the sense that the announcement is made by the university itself?

1) Is that "especially" in the sense that, of all the dialects of Shizuoka, they especially (most often) use the Izu dialect?

2) Right, I see that, but I do not see why ようこらんしょ meaning ようこそ in Izu dialect should be a reason why someone says 「いらっしゃいませ」. I don't see the connection. Unless I am misunderstanding the purpose of だから? I thought it implied cause-and-effect.

3) What is the subject of あって then? I am assuming 他にも is also adverbial.

Yes, that's my interpretation.

2)
The Japanese hotel host said ようこらんしょ（＝ ようこそ ＝ いらっしゃいませ ＝ welcome）, thus she(probably not he) said いらっしゃいませ（＝ ようこそ ＝ welcome）.

The speaker used 「いらっしゃいませ」と言ったんだよ as "said a welcome greeting", since いらっしゃいませ is the most common word for welcome.
