What would be the best translation for the following sentence:
たすけて くださった。
I read this in a book and I understand that somebody is saying that somebody helped them but I dont exactly understand the translation and usage of くださった.

くださった is the past tense form of くださる, which is an auxiliary verb (helper verb) which is attached to the て form of another verb to indicate that someone has performed an action beneficial to you (or your "in group").

Thank you!
