This is the end of the prologue of the 2001 video game, Mega Man X6
It is said that the release was rushed, and so the translation is not necessarily the most correct. To me, the english text sounds odd, like an incomplete or engrish translation or something. I think there are a lot more coherent ways to convey this sentence in english. I also think that it might sound natural to japanese to read the japanese part just fine, since the word order would allow for the sentence to be cut-off like this, like a cliffhanger, but the english equivalent is harder to produce maybe since it is just lacking too much info about what it wants to say.
3週間後の現在…
荒れ果てた地上はレプリロイドがかろうじて活動できる程度に
汚染が静まりつつあった…
そして…ある男の…
Three weeks later, at present...
There is so much pollution on the ruined Earth from the explosion that the Reploids can barely work.
