just curious what this grammer means
does it mean for the sake of?
could someone give me an example of how it is used
i always forget this grammer

~plain + ために + の + noun

meaning: because (of), for the benefit, to do for

eg. 弟はオートバイを買うためにアルバイトをしています。

Tame ni + ni/no (?). Do you mean just "tame no"? Actually "tame ni" + noun + verb is possible as well....

In written form, usually ni/no is also removed.

Also,

verb + tame (ni)

ni is only added if verb is a suru verb.

Really? I don't know if it is strictly standard or not, but I've seen the "ni" with non-suru verbs gazillions of times...."taberu tame ni kite kudasai", "ikimashou" "hataraite imasu" etc.

Oops, sorry....

What I mean is

verb (no) tame ni....
no is only added if verb is a suru verb.

benkyou no tame ni
taberu tame ni

Sorry for the mistake....

No problem. I've never really thought of it that way, though, since benkyou without suru becomes just another noun.
