I've just spent too long watching too many generations of foreigners passing out too much bogus crap based on too little information, too little understanding, too much hearsay, and too much conjecture founded on apparently little more than an assumption of universal stupidity and rampant racism on the part of the Japanese. If pointing a finger at horseshït and calling it horseshït makes me "grumpy" then I'll just have to be thought grumpy.
Taking your points one by one:
1. Going by "what you read" is a dubious basis to go on, given the propensity of gaijins to repeatedly swap the same misinformation back and forth to each other like a wad of chewing gum passing between a pair of teenagers making out.
Anything regarding the Japanese criminal justice system in general or the police in particular is where gaijin ignorance of what they're talking about shines the brightest.
So based entirely on Ministry of Justice statistics, what you read about "auto-jail" was demonstrably pure horseshït; it's not even arguable as a matter of opinion. Even in Japan there exists the concept and practice of prosecutorial discretion, applied based on the individual circumstances and in consultation with the aggrieved party. The simple fact is that as a gaijin there is roughly a fifty-fifty chance one will benefit from this discretion.
2. Now we're supposed to believe that people are being deported for losing
civil cases. Google 民事裁判 強制送還 or 養育費 滞納 強制送還 and tell me what you find to support that. I found nothing whatsoever, which was exactly what I knew I would find before I even looked.
Regarding #1 and #2 in particular, when you hear or read something about the Japanese or Japan that sounds whacky or stupid, stop to question the validity on a common sense basis of what you're being fed instead of just swallowing it hook, line, and sinker and then spreading it around.
#3. This one is so baseless an assumption that it's hard to know how to intelligently reply to it. It reeks of the typical gaijin presumption of total incompetence and racism on the part of Japanese police, which is just more horseshït.
