This water comes right out of the mountain it's a safe to drink and it is ice cold and it's the real true mineral water from all the leaves and whatever else that it goes through the mountains there's no filter in this water so this is pure rainwater that comes down from the mountain it's pretty much ice cold actually and it has a very heavy feeling to it when you wash your face with it.

this is the countryside of Japan is so slow I mean everything is so slow paced which is more healthy too.

Noto Fugu Karaage for 730 yen? That's what I would have ordered! What the heck even is that? Is it fugu AND karaage? For that price?!? I'm so very curious!
Just deep fried fugu, whole, each maybe 12-15cm long. Our group shared a couple of those plates--I think it was two fish per plate. Kind of eat any flesh off the bones. Fugu, at least cooked this way, is not what I'd order/choose, and IMO there are better dishes/fish to spend my appetite on. But when out with others, variety is good.

Oh, that doesn't sound so good...my wife once ordered deep fried flounder, which is another fish I like, but by deep frying it, the restaurant just destroyed that fish. Fugu as sashimi is delicious. Deep fried, I'm not so sure.

Thanks for sharing!

Different kind of rustic still lifes--maybe country still life, or farming still life?

Two views of the same thing/spot:

Different spot: (no idea what the log/driftwood hanging up high is...)

Small waterfall, trying for some blur to the water. I tried 1/2, 1/4, and this is 1/8th sec (handheld). Still some smoothness to the water, but in this shot, the greenery is sharper than the slower speeds (tho maybe not visible at this size):

And it was rainy out (above are the real camera, this flower using an iphone):

Great shots, all of them. You should bring a tripod to that waterfall next time. Are all these places in walking distance or were you cycling?

Driving, but at least browsing out of town just a little in areas that I used to ride more. I have the phone along when riding, and almost always go by where the dahlia are, and when it's early and the light is better/softer and no harsh shadows/sunlight I do stop there then if the blooms happen to look good.

Today's been wet off and on, so I cruised around a little. My camera bag is just big enough for the camera (with a lens mounted) plus two other lenses (my whole inventory at this point). No way I'd drag that along on a bike, and the car allows for safe lens swapping--either choosing before I get out, or to get back in for a couple minutes to do a swap (nice because I can be a little clumsy sometimes). Also, I do sweat a lot when riding and don't want to deal with that and taking pics at the same time.

The rain's almost done here (my prediction based on looking at the JMA radar for this area). Nothing like Akita/Niigata tho (even Noto/Nanao has gotten a lot).

EDIT: and the one just above the waterfall is a re-shoot of another farther up above (lighting was too harsh then).

I've left this shot bigger, so you can see the birds, hopefully. I ride by this view a lot--it's a summer nesting are for Sagi/Ao-sagi. They come back to this place every year. All the white there--birds. Maybe even a little more visible in the reflections.

Nice shot! This time of the year, we also see enormous flocks of sagi and u (cormorants) along the Tama. They are beautiful to watch.

Another day, another drama. Found this poor fellow on his back, scorching in the plain sun. According to my wife, it's a male that's lost its stags.

A short morning walk--the two of trees are the same thing but wider angle or normal view, and the main tree there is a keyaki (of course, if someone asked 'what kind of trees grow (are grown?) at shrines?', the best answer, statistically, would be keyaki (Zelkova, for the english, and this wood is used a lot for the cores in lacquerware).

And, another version of this kind of thing:

Welcome back, @イェンス. Thanks for sharing! :)
Same from me. (and I'd've ignored those no photography signs, too)

Today's shot, not much, the area in front of an art/craft shop where they take care of some of the greenery in the front. (there's a nice shoe garden just behind me there that I've posted a pic or two of before--they warn off people with cameras, but this was early, and nobody around)
