I believe this a very scarce watch fob from the Tungwen (also Tongwen) College that started in Peking 1862. The school was for teaching Western languages. There's the Kabuto helmet on one side and a caduceus on the other side. The school did start teaching medicine in 1877. Was there a reason for this style of helmet to have been on this fob? Could this have been made for a Japanese student or faculty? Did the Chinese ever wear this style helmet? Thank you for any help you can provide.
