Hi all. Could someone let me know if these translations are correct?

友達がパソコンを貸したんですが、壊してしまいました。My friend lent me a computer, but I (unfortunately) broke it.
友達にパソコンを借りたんですが壊してしまいました。I borrowed a computer from my friend, but I (unfortunately) broke it.

Thanks in advance.

Which are you trying to do, English --> Japanese or Japanese -->English translation? (The former one, perhaps?)

The second sentence is OK, but the object (the one the friend lent a computer to) is interpreted as someone else, not "me", in the first one.

Hint:
You already learned やりもらい動詞 "giving/receiving verbs", right?

As in くれる, あげる and もらう?

So might the first sentence be " 友達がパソコンを貸してくれたんですが、壊してしまいました"?
