I only shut mine down when I go to bed or when I leave my house. For some reason , I always worry about it catching on fire. I was forced to buy a new computer last year when my old desktop died. I bought an HP with a 23 inch screen and an internal hard drive , meaning no big tower to take up space. They say old people don't like change and I am that way , I like to stick with things I know. Windows 10 drove me crazy for about a month until I got used to it. This HP computer has a problem with the power on/off button , it does not work. I have to shut the power off to it for it to shut down. There is a new BIOS down load they say will fix it , but I have had bad luck in the past and don't dare to down load the new BIOS. I use my desktop computers so often that they never last longer then 3 years before they motherboard goes bad.
I shut down my pc when I go to bed, and whenever I leave the house for a longer period of time. I almost never had my pc running for longer than a day, and I would probably be really anxious knowing it's on and I'm not near it.
(I say almost never because when I was younger I used to spend a lot of nights glued to the screen, and during some more stressful times I used to be so tired I basically fell asleep while browsing the internet or watching videos.)
