Monbukagakusho Scholarship for Postgraduate!!

Hi everyone. :) A little question here from me. What should I write in (Q6)field of study specialized in the past, in the application form. Should I write about the subjects that I've took before. Maybe briefly describe them..? or just write my Bachelor Degree's course name?

asking

I have written exam test in English and Math on 15 July.
Please advice me for the exam.

wow it's been quiet for almost a year now! hello everyone, greetings from malaysia. I know there are some of you who already received the written examination notification. good luck to those who are going. i read everything of this thread, no kidding. LOL.
Would be highly helpful if anyone wants to share some new info or tips on the exam.
not sure how to prepare though...just...doing some practice..

Hi everyone, hi edijai. am also applyin this year
what about your exams was it difficult?, in my country exams will be at the end of june so doin some renshu
good luck to everyone

heyy!! finally someone to talk to :D
yes the exam in my country was done on 2nd June.
I passed the qualifying and has been called for interview on 2nd july.
i wouldn't say it was difficult, but the questions are tricky. you need to be careful of the questions and read the passage again.
the grammar part is also quite tricky. but if you read a lot, there won't be problem.

congrats good luck in interview, hope ill pass first screening too
glad to hear that questions are not so difficult 👍 but as far as i know in Malaysia the main test is english but in my country we have japanese as the main one and english as optional
what is your major? did u contacted with your future supervisor?
seems like this thread is not popular any more, at least last years it was more active

Hey everyone sorry for reviving this kind of old thread, but I'm new here ;)
I was wondering, is there any place where I can find how many scholarships are giving per country?
I'm applying for a post-grad MEXT grant from the Netherlands. Have the Japanese and English exams and my interview this Thursday. I've been trying the old exams but the difficulty seems to differ quite a lot! Any hints on the difficulty of this year's Japanese exam? Also, does anyone have the exams from 2011 and 2012?

Thank you!

hi anara
sorry for my very late reply, but yeah in Malaysia English is compulsory and Japanese is optional. That's a relief for me because i have like zero basics in japanese. total noob i tell you!
my major is engineering.. and i've got few supervisors willing to take me in (Tsukuba, Hokkaido).
But i have to tell you, I give up the monbusho scholarship because i already received another scholarship.
so in march i am going to university of tokyo instead..
anyway, how's yours going so far? i wish you best of luck..and hope you will get the scholarship.
how's your interview?

hi baska88
i'm not sure about other country, but there are about 22 students to be awarded the scholarship every year.
i guess i'm too late to answer about the exam, but in malaysia it is more tricky than difficult. just be careful and read the passage repeatedly.
normally a website with links of the past exam is available according to your country. try this Study In Japan Comprehensive Guide

so hows you interview?

Hi, can someone help me with an explanation for these 3 items:
1 Present field of study
2 Your research topic in Japan: Describe articulately the research you wish to carry out in Japan.
3 Study program in Japan: (Describe in detail and with specifics — particularly concerning the ultimate goal(s) of your research in Japan)

Thankyou!!

In short :
1) Your current research/studies
2) What research you plan on doing in Japan
3) Detailed research proposal.

I recommend reading the previous threads about the research student scholarship on Jref.
