I'm trying to find a word for "appreciate" in the past tense, as "i appreciated the event", as formal as possible. I looked up some but I don't know which one is most appropriate.

In English, that usage of "appreciate" isn't clear. I assume, though, that you mean it in the sense of feeling gratitude.

There are several different ways of doing this. It would help us help you better if you would give a little more detail. Can you read Japanese text or do you need this in the Roman alphabet?

Japanese works fine. Something like "Your work/participation, I appreciated/enjoyed that part (within the implied event)"

I dunno if that's even more confusing or not.

貴方の_____が素晴らしかったです
