Anyhow, has anyone been to Disney in Tokyo? I've never been but I want to know if it's worth the trip.

Hello fellow Japan-fans!

I've been fond of the Japanese for the past two years now. I've been VERY impressed by their anime (Though I don't read manga much due to the lack of time) and video games. I've watched lots of anime and I believe I will continue watching for a long time. Also, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Metal Gear Solid have become my favourite game series.

But my love for anime and video games aren't the only reasons I would like to go to Japan. I love technology, and Tokyo is one of the most advanced cities on the planet. Also, Japanese culture and history is...

Hi Everyone,
I am wondering about something. Has anyone here been to Tokyo Disneyland?
From my research Euro Disneyland opened in April 1992 to a host of problems, which were to continue until Disney loosened corporate constraints to fit the desires of local and European visitors.
After near-catastrophic losses, Disney was quick to respond to customers' demands. The company reversed its ban on alcohol beverages , adding wine to the menu.
I am wondering has anyone here been to Tokyo Disneyland.Do they serve alcohol in the restaurants in Tokyo Disneyland? In Japan do they have laws to...

Thread 'Which is better Disney Sea or Disney Land?'

I have asked many of my Japanese students this question but I wanted to find out what you think. I have been to Tokyo Disneyland twice and thought it was a lot of fun both times. Unfortunately, though, I've never been to Disney Sea. I know your answer will probably be based on the experience you had there; it can depend heavily on the people you go with, weather, etc.
But based on what the parks offer, which do you think is better? Often adult students I talk to like Disney Sea because you can drink beer there while the younger crowd likes Tokyo Disney Land for the attractions...

I have information that nearest station to Disneysea is Maihama Station, I want to know how far if walk from Maihama Station?
Does anyone have the map to show me?

Although it has been a while since the last Tokyo Disneyland/sea question that I can recall, here are some related threads that may be of help to you.

I went to Disney Sea a couple of years ago and loved it. The lines were much shorter than I expected and it has a genuinely happy and friendly vibe to the place. They also have some great snacks for sale and the prices aren't overly extortionate like they are in the American and European resorts.

If you like Disney parks, definitely go!! It's excellent! I've been to all the Disney resorts around the world apart from Hong Kong, and Tokyo Disney is really unique. The attention to detail in the theming is really amazing and the parks are beautiful. Disneyland Park is similar to the other Magic Kingdom parks, but you won't find Disney Sea anywhere else. There are some fantastic rides, like Journey to the Centre of the Earth, and Pooh's Honey Hunt. I stayed at Hotel Miracosta, which is located at the entrance to Disney Sea and is themed like a mediterranean harbour, and it was amazing.

I will need to take a group of relatives for a day trip to one of the two in December. Which of Tokyo DIsneyland / Disney Sea would you recommend?
Group includes :
Me and wife
Japanese father and mother and one elderly Japanese lady.
Japanese children - 17, 14 and 10ish.
British mother and father.
British children 15, 12 and 7ish.
The Brits have been to Paris Disneyland. The Japanese have been to both in Tokyo.

There are attractions suitable for all the age groups - including gentle boat rides, shows and the parade, as well as more exciting rides. Like the other Disney parks, the "bigger" rides tend to be more about the theming and experience than being all-out white-knuckle rides like at some theme parks. Disney Seas is absolutely beautiful, with areas themed around Jules Verne novels, a mediterranean harbour, Venice, an Arabian coast, an American port and the Little Mermaid.

Not sure if you've been yet, but I went to DisneySea a couple of days ago and it was absolutely amazing. I'd reccomend DisneySea over Disneyland Japan if only for the fact that Disneyland Japan seems to be more child-orientated.
