The problem is that letianchen engaged in the habit some English speakers have of misusing the very specific "this" as a substitute for the very nonspecific "a".

This results from sloppy writing and slangy misuse of English, not misreading on Toritoribe's part. His interpretation was correct in accordance with correct English usage....which wasn't used here.

I have never seen that word before so I am just using the definitions I see in the dictionary to see which one fits the best.

so shouldnt it be something like "We will come figure out whats going on in an instant(since it has to do with this topic i.e his love life?)" I forgot the subject should be "we" in this situation that was my bad.

I didnt respond because I was sure I knew the meaning, I was sure so I didnt respond, turns out I was wrong, it happens, I should have posted again to see if what I thought was correct, but hey im human I have a level of confidence with my understanding of things, and sometimes I think im right while im not, it happens to everyone. It's a bit arcaic way of speech.
In modern Japanese, it's 私を2度使って、重い物を見極めて捧げなさい。
The statue must have a function as a scale, you have to find out which gem is the heaviest.

That's not wrong, but it just says "today and tomorrow" and doesn't contain "as well". I would say 今日このレストランでピザを食べます。明日もです / 明日もそうするつもりです(I am going to do so also tomorrow)。

Could someone please explain me 「１から遠回り」 part in the following sentence. As far as I can understand when he tried to move from number 8 to 9, he started to rotate it backwards 8->7->6... Hovewer what is this １? The number or maybe 一から(from scratch, from the beggining)?
