I'm not sure what the meaning of わ here is though, or is it just a 終助詞 in the middle of the sentence here?

It's just a phonetic rendition of は (I guess since the speaker is a child). "このたびはご愁傷様でございます" or similar are set phrases used at funerals.

I'm wondering about に対して here. I'm aware that there are a few usages for this, but the only one that makes sense to me here is "（１）二つの物が向かい合う。あるものに向かう。 「川を挟んで―・する山」「主に―・して太刀をぬく/平家 11」", meaning "faced us/turned toward us and said..." in this context. Can anyone confirm or tell me if it's some different usage in this case?

因縁 and 運命 have a similar meaning "fate/destiny", but 因縁 also means "pretext of quarrel/fight" especially in a set phrase 因縁をつける "to pick a quarrel with~". This phrase often represents yakuza's threats. 落とし前をつける means "to solve those kind of problem". If a yakuza says 落とし前をつけろ to people in general, it means "Pay money", and when used among yakuzas, it's "Chop off your finger". The girls are talking about these issues.
