Wow, hard to believe! I cycled in short sleeves yesterday afternoon. One reason I couldn't live in Hokkaido . ;-)

Seems nice but...

It seems that in at least 65% of the drawings related to your daughter, y look mad or something. I as a *universal man & artist take pride in my work and would love to draw for my daughter (DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE ONE YET lol) no matter what I was currently doing, even if said work was for the next day or even the next hour (in my case for example some blueprints or a model of them).

Why not highlight more good times with your family? There must be some considering the extraordinary circumstances your family possesses.

NOTE: A universal man is he who possesses a wide range of skill. In my case: Drawing, painting, writing, poetry, architecture, multimedia and web-based projects, etc.

Honestly, I'm only angry 20% of the time. But, the purpose of these strips isn't to be heartwarming. It's to show interesting things. It's very difficult to show really positive things without being fake or sentimental. Those cutesy things need to be used sparingly.

Also, she is at a very difficult, frustrating stage. She'll understand when she has kids. You will too

I'm surprised to see how many of our neighbours decorate their houses and homes, lots of them even have real trees in their genkan. Also, one aspect you haven't mentioned: Christmas in Japan is romantic.

"In November, all the single guys started looking desperately for girlfriends, organizing last-minute matchmaking parties to find Christmas dates," said Mr. Mori, who is now married and in his 40s. Those who didn't have girlfriends still booked restaurants and hotels because it would be too late to make reservations by the time they found someone.

Today, the restaurants aren't as packed, but young couples still see Christmas as a romantic event. In a 2010 survey by Tokyo-based marketing research firm Macromill Inc., 39 percent of unmarried Japanese in their 20s and 30s said they typically go to fancy restaurants for a Christmas date, but 32 percent said they celebrate at home, even if they have partners.

Maybe there's some difference from region to region. In Okinawa and Sapporo, there are few outdoor lights, and everything is plastic.

I had thought about the dating thing, and it just didn't go to with the rhythm of the page, which was more about the family experience. I guess since I'm a family guy. My first years here though, yeah, the Christmas date was quite the thing.
