Until recently .... US media, US congressmen, US consumer advocates, US product-liability lawyers, as well as some US consumers were making fuss about Toyota's electronic defects, but ..... Dow Jones update says:

U.S. regulators have yet to find any electronic defects in Toyota Motor Corp. vehicles, a U.S. vehicle-safety official reiterated Wednesday, as a scientific panel began studying potential causes of unintended acceleration.

Some members of Congress, consumer advocates and product-liability lawyers have suggested that engine electronics may have played a role in problems that led Toyota to recall more than eight million vehicles globally for sudden- acceleration and gas-pedal problems. Those critics have questioned the adequacy of efforts by Toyota and government regulators to study electronics.

Toyota had already been forced to recall millions of car because of the unproved reasons raised by US government. IF US government failed to prove Toyota's defects at the end, WHAT can Toyota expect from US government ? 😊

Or US government is just proving that USA itself is a country of bandit ???

I drive a 2008 GMC 2500 at work and it has an accelerator problem, it does it about once a day. It'll start idling high then when you put it in drive just idling it will just start accelerating, we tested it to see how fast it would go and it got up to 46mph with no foot on the pedal. This is all fixed on ours once you turn off the truck and restart, I think it has something to do with resetting the computer or something.

But yeah the US govt. should give them something, I mean heck they gave every other car manufacturer truck loads of cash why not give to another one... Only company that hasn't been bailed out was Ford....

Besides, if it really is a problem where are all the news stories recently of "out of control" Toyota's? Ever since Toyota paid the milti-million dollar fine there has been not a peep of any Toyota's having problems on the news. Something doesn't smell right.

TOYOTA has been bashed more than BP, while TOYOTA is supposedly innocent and BP crimes on the Gulf sea is on-going. I think US government is ugly, looks like Bandits.

When Toyota is proved innocent, How US government will compensate the damages of Toyota and car owners in USA ???

Senior officials at the U.S. Department of Transportation have at least temporarily blocked the release of findings by auto-safety regulators that could favor Toyota Motor Corp. in some crashes related to unintended acceleration, according to a recently retired agency official.

George Person, who retired July 3 after 27 years at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, said in an interview that the decision to not go public with the data for now was made over the objections of some officials at NHTSA.
Release of Toyota Documents Blocked, Ex-Official Says

This article means .... US government (maybe Obama administration only) manipulates public together with US media (maybe except WSJ) to attain their political aims (serve for Detolite labor union, not for US citizen). In a way, USA has certain similarities with Chinese Red Capitalism.

In short, Toyota was used as scapegoat to help Detroit.

Many of US politicians are dishonest and considering next election only.
US press/media are shamelss and flaming people for money.
Laywers are looking for deep pocket for lawsuits, not fighting for justice.
Class-action participants are greedy, seeking money only.

I am concerned about the future of USA.

And still there have been absolutely no reports of Camry's speeding out of control and to date, not one of the supposed out of control cars have done it again though much testing was done. Not only are class-action participants greedy, but it seems real fishy that it occurred at a time when Governmental Motors (GM) needed a shot in the arm the most. Yes, Toyota was used as a scapegoat and they should have fought more against the corrupt politicians of the US.

I wonder why the Japanese press and government are so silent on this issue, especially after the berating and verbal beating they took from those a$$holes in Washington, were embarrassed in front of the whole world, and paid millions to a corrupt government.

Maybe they were willing participants in this charade in order to help out GM? Their silence is defining.

You're seriously saying that it's a mass conspiracy against Toyota for the sake of money. Which is TOTALLY not a tune I haven't heard before. You see, this is a big plot by all Americans to destroy Japan. First we partition Korea, then we incur trillions of dollars in debt to China, and then we ruin Toyota. Bhwahahahahaha.

I am concerned about the future of USA.

Please worry about your own country, it's really not doing so well. :?

It's not a question of either conspiracy or not, BUT it's a matter of "National Quality".

If it's really plot, USA will be able to do it in a better way.

I dunno, Japan is sorta losing the whole national quality matter with every year that passes. What's the undeniable music player of the past decade? The iPod, American. I'm sorry, but national quality seems a bit far fetched considering the fact that Japan is lagging behind the rest of the world.

I'm not sure if you've been told this before, but I feel that you are an idiot. Could you please maybe offer more conversation than just, "jerk USA jerks always cheat. :<". How old are you? I would really appreciate being proved wrong on the matter of you being an idiot or not.

Don't waste your breath... its not worth it at all with those two. Its consistent, and frankly boring to even engage them.

I'm shocked, shocked to find out gambling's going on in here!

Wasn't it apparent from the beginning this whole "unintended acceleration" fiasco has been a politically-driven smear campaign designed to aid government motors and damage the world's best carmaker?

Or at least slow their sales down enough to enable Government Motors to make inroads into Toyota's sales as they recently became the number one seller of cars in America and the Camry was the best selling car overall.
