Saudi Arabia isn't an easy country to get into if you are from the UK, unless you are muslim going to Mecca. Not known for its booming tourist industry, unlike the UAE, which is very eager for western tourists.

You cannot summerise "Arab People" just as you can't stereotype the people of any country or race.

Having said that though, i don't ever see myself going to quite a few of the Arabic countries out there (for example like Dubai) as i wouldn't want to be in a country with extreme conservative laws where you can get in trouble with the police for minor things like holding hands with your partner in public etc. I think its a shame that some Arabic countries have laws like this as it probably deters many foreign people from visiting such countries.

I think that if some of the Arabic countries that have extreme conservative laws were to loosen up, it might ease the cultural shock that many Western cultures are suffering at the moment. I think a countries culture has as much to do with its laws/government as it has to do with its main religion.

In England all our laws are based on equality- it doesn't matter what your gender, sexuality or religion is, you have the same rights as the next person. So you can say that we have a very liberal & tolerant culture. As a democracy, our laws are decided by the majority and not the minority.

So i don't think you can say that government/laws/politics has nothing to do with a countries culture & its cultural values (in England equality & tolerance).

Umm, we don't sell women in the west- human trafficking is highly illegal. And we don't make women work or "use them for business"- in the work place, men & women's rights are equal. Men & women in this country work for the same reasons. A woman has just as much right to go to college/university or work in any job just as much as any man has, and this is the way it should be.
