Haha kshoo... sama geng ya... in fact I should bring my current 1210 but my parents want it so that they can use it to have video chat with me when i reach there. Comments on Studio XPS 13 are not so positive due to the heat problem and the rest of the small laptop line up are not so tempting, in the end i choose this 16 -.-

Wow! I have not been around a few days and the posts increased so dramatically!!!

My computer has almost reached its end period, almost everything is in bad state now. I am still thinking whether I should be buying one here or in Japan. The price of notebooks in www.kakaku.com looks tempting... It is the standard price Japanese used to compare while they are doing online shopping.

So how's your preparation? Do let us October people know what problems you are facing...

I was just checking out kakaku.com more into detail. I realized its a price comparison website. seems really good too. All the stores can ship, and most of them do COD(cash on demand), so you don't need a credit card. And some will allow you to pick it up in the store. Pretty neat, I will keep this website in mind. Thanks kouki!

Oh and the netbooks seem a bit overpriced in japan compared to the US.

oh yay i got switched from ohbaku to shugakuin!! yay no waking up at like 5 am
Congratulations! You probably got my room! I just got a chance to switch from a single room to a couple room in Shugakuin (somebody cancelled a couple room), so one single room for a girl became free. We'll be dormitory mates:p.

why do you prefer a couple room to a single?

Hey Guys,

Just now I checked the weather in Japan, it seems that the weather there is still very cold , average 2-5 °Celsius.

I'm at ohbaku as well, don't forget. Hoping very much to form an early morning travel buddies group...

I just got back home to find a large envelope from Kyodai in my mailbox. Inside are a "we're so glad to have you" letter, a letter about what I should expect financially, the official Handbook for International Students and a questionnaire I have to return regarding placement for the Japanese course. Now I finally feel like I'm really leaving in three weeks...

dude, you gonna stay in oobaku too? Please wake me up also haha

No problem, after you wake me up! :p

Don't wait for me if I don't show up in 10 minutes after our scheduled meeting time. :p

I have a good and valid reason to be late, I need to sleep. 🙂

oh so you dont really have a roommate...only when your husband is visiting...that'll be nice...huge room
I hope he will be visiting often, and for a long time (and somewhere deep in my heart I hope that he will stay there permanently), but yes, I'll have a bigger place to live, and that's nice!👍

Oronen, it's nice you got an official letter. I still didn't receive anything, neither from the embassy nor from the university. I guess my package will also arrive soon. Anyway, the three weeks will be gone before we know it.

>>> Malaysians,

I went to Embassy today to collect my visa, but until just now I found out that my visa expiry date is on 6 Jun 2009 and the issue date is 6 March 2009. Just 3 months of stayin Japan?

What expiry date stated on your visa? I'm wondering whether embassy printed wrongly on my visa? but there the year of stay is correct : 2 years.

Ms Yin has already foreseen this. :)
Please refer to her e-mail dated 24 Februray 2009.
Q: OMG, I've applied my visa but the expiry date is in May/June!!!A: Don't worry. The expiry date simply means expiry date for your entrance to Japan. In other words, you must enter Japan before the expiry date.

The weather in Hokkaido is still negative.. is it that now is the end of winter and when april comes it will be spring??

I bought a benq s42 a month ago so i can play upcoming games.. hehe...good price with good spec

The scholarship application re-opens again... Ms Yin will be very busy again...
Oh, I saw a term
The applicant who has already enrolled in a Japanese university is not eligible to apply for admission. So we can't apply if we get a place in the university. I am not sure whether it is the same in other countries.

That's mean if we had success to enroll in one of the japanese university, we are not eligible to apply for it??😌

U from penang too? then we can meet up b4 go to japan hehe.. Im from the island..
I only went to Queensbay mall and look at 1 shop.. the price is less than rm 200 so think gonna get it here to reduce the hasle of going japan and hunting for winter clothing.. somemore cant speak japanese well.. but first maybe shud ask someone who is already in japan and how much the winter clothing costs.. if the price difference is not much then get from penang.. hehe

Hi all,

really nice to meet so many ppl here especially from Malaysia!

i am also going to apply MEXT this year and from engineering background as well!

from you all information, during the time in university, i have a chance to work as research assistant with my lecturer and with a professor from a japanese university.

recently, i have sent email to that professor and he has agreed to accept me to do master under his supervision.

hence, i would like to ask that do i have any advantages if i apply for MEXT scholarship?

Do i still need 2 sit for the exams which conducted by the embassay even though i had obtain the letter of acceptance?

Besides, regarding to the field of study and study program in Japan, can i ask professor there to send me a sample or i need to create a new topic by my own?

i now feel really headache abt it especially is the study program part, i really hope that somebody who had obtained the scholarship can give me a hint of it!!

Thanks!
