間違っていますか?

I asked Rieko about it and she said it is a normal sentence. But with out 本, it's assumed your reading a website.
和訳:
里絵子と聞きました。彼女は「その文は大丈夫ですけど 、『本』はなくても、ウエブサイトを見るはずと思いま す。」と言いました。 😅
その英文は「日本語Aboutをどういうですか」質問からあ ナました。
最近日本語を全然練習しなくて、ちょっとその英文を和 訳してみたかったです。
今仕事中から里絵子と聞くことができません。 :p

I'd say:
(それについて)里絵子に聞くと、普通の文だけれど、 「本」(という言葉)がないとウェブサイトを読んでい るのだと思われると言いました。

Generally, words and phrases which are obvious for both the speaker and listeners are omitted, so I would not translate "about it".

Normal sentenceは普通でもいいし、「問題ない」でもいいかな と思います。
「大丈夫」もこの場合にはいい訳だと思いますよ。
👍

それから、このスレッドのタイトル「間違いますか」で すが、自分の解釈が正しいかどうか聞くときには「間違 っていますか」といいます。
「間違いますか」だとふつうは do you make mistakes?

Grammar nuances | Japan Forum

I wanted to say to go with your instincts. I couldn't find the actual wording and the Excite translator came up with 「本能を伴う」.
:p

Using 使う for saying "I have not used much Japanese lately" seemed out of context with the meaning implied. I wanted to convey a more
application/usage of Japanese and I thought that is what 使用 represented.
I see 使用 used often when relating to software and hardware. IT I see Japanese instructions quite often.

I haven't been studying as hard as before because I been busy with work and my son so leaves me with lil energy to study. And now with Rieko I want her to focus on English so I just try to forget about Japanese.

You may actually be more interested in 利用 meaning "make use of/take advantage of/utilize" etc. 使用 really is little or nothing more than the form 使う takes in formal situations.

I just noticed it even on the ご注意 area of my toothpaste roll. :)

That's far too complicated! We would never say that. Actually, I'm not really sure what this sentence means.

I hope I make sense.
I would appreciate it if you would correct my English when needed.

説明してみます。
「Go with your instincts.」は「何かは正しいそう感じがあって、何か についてはっきりとき、第一の気持ちと聞いて、本能を 使います。」のような意味があると思います。
わかるかな? 😅
も、「いやだ」と言いたかった。 :p

"Go with your instinct/intuition" というのは、「自分の直感・本能に従ってやったらいい。」の感じだと思いますね。

Go with your instincts をはらしんはどう理解していますか?:-)

私たちはなんとか意志(意思)の疎通ができたか?:p

または、私たちはどうしても意志(意思)の疎通ができなかったか?

Damicciさん、こんにちは。

I hate to say this, but I'm afraid I don't get it.

It is true that "instinct" can be translated into 本能.
For example,
(a) Animals act on instinct.
(b) The abandoned child brought out her maternal instinct.
"instinct" in (a) and (b) can be translated into 本能.

(a) 動物は本能に従って行動する。
(b) その捨て子は、彼女の母性本能をくすぐった。

But the word in the following sentences can NOT be
translated into 本能。
(b) My instincts warned me of the approaching danger.
(Lit.) 私の直感が近づいている危険を私に警告した。(unnatur al)
私は直感的に危険が迫っているのを察知した。

(c) He's got an instinct for making money.
彼には金儲けの才能(or素質)がある。

も、「いやだ」と言いたかった。:p

What's も at the beginning? You mean "also"? If so, you
can NOT use も that way.

I still don't get your sentence:「日本語の言葉にはこ れがやだ」

What does that これ refer to?

We would not say
「前に比べて日本語の勉強に熱心ではない」

Probably I would say
前ほど日本語の勉強に熱心ではない

But
前ほど日本語の勉強に熱心ではないとは言えない
would sound too complicated. I don't think many of us would say that.

Well, I agree your way is more common. But complicated or not, I did receive 前に比べて日本語の勉強に熱心ではない in an Email from my Japanese tutor a few years ago. At the time I thought it had an interesting ring to it and that is how I know it is at least correct on a very basic level.

I should have said "I would not say" instead of "we would not say".

Yes. 私は前に比べて日本語の勉強に熱心ではありません is grammatically
perfect. So we might use such a sentence as a translation from
English to Japanese or as a correction of what foreign people
wrote.

It's only MY opinion. Other Japanese might have different views.

ところで、Elizabethさんは、日本語の先生ですか?以あ O日本に住んでおられたのでしょうか?

"Follow your instinct" という英訳は、「instinct」を「固有の生得的行動など。。。」と考えていたので混乱したためでしょうね。

I don't know how to explain this, but in Japanese language verb phrase sounds more natural than noun phrase. (Sorry I dont know the proper linguistic terms for those things!)
Compare:
勉強について熱心
熱心に勉強する

Just my two yen.

No, You were helpful Hirashin. I am just a little frustrated with my Japanese. So I will not stress over it any longer.
