I'm living in Mexico atm, and there are several sushi restaurants, but I just am too afraid to try it here. Anyone else never eaten sushi?

It's becoming more and more popular here in Belgium. You can even find it
fresh in the supermarket. I had it once but I found it a bit bland even the fish
was not to my taste. I usually like salmon and other types of raw fish.
Maybe when you eat sushi at a restaurant it taste better. The rice was overtaking all the other flavours.
Sounds like you have tried the M&S prepacked stuff. Not nice.Oh supermarket sushi is the worst, it is always of the poorest quality and is never as fresh as it should be- for the real taste of proper sushi experience you should really go to a traditional japanese restaurant that serves sushi made by qualified chefs, such sushi is far more superior in taste, quality and appearance than any dingy piece of sushi in a plastic tray that you will come by in a supermarket.

Ahhh, natto!! I always made such a mess eating natto roll, and yellow stuff, that would be "Takuan", pickled raddish with yellow food coloring in it.Iron Chef said:Other toppings/fillings I have seen often include natto, cucumber, and a thinly sliced yellow tsukemono-type sushi (don't remember the name).
