Long ago I was told that it didn't really matter, but I'm thinking that perhaps that person thought it might be too early to explain the nuances to a person (me) who had only just learned the kana spelling for konnichiwa.

I'm not to advanced, but reading through the Kana For Busy People books, and practically writing down every chapter review, questions, and practices will help out big time writing, and eventually getting the sizing proportional with the Kanji.

I noticed my wife will make Kankjies big, and kanas somewhat, smaller. So far, all is going well, and I can't wait to go the calligraphy classes. It will be 773H using my right hand.

Like Cue, I also do this. I tend to think it's because I have to actually THINK about what the kanji is supposed to look like, whereas once you get comfortable with the kana, they require no thought whatsoever.

But I can't write those old "ゐ" and "ゑ" kana... orz
For those who may not be familiar with, it's a well-known old poem.
It covers all the 46 hiragana, and 1 kana is used only once; here's more info from Wikipedia.
And yes, I love to drink (plus go karaoke)! Especially on Friday nights! :emoji_joy:

We lovely Dutchies have a similar saying: "een vrouw naar mijn hart". Which literally means "a woman to my heart". It's probably the same meaning as Michael's, that you're a woman to his liking.

In other words: he likes you!! Right, Michael?

Yes, this is exactly it... I believe you could say "A man after my own heart" (as a man), being that this particular person had a similar personality, interest, trait, et cetera that you yourself did.

Of course, that's not to say I don't like you, Cueサン フフ～

I learned a new idiom today.
You know, I knew all of each word, 'after', 'my', 'own' and 'heart' respectively, but when it comes to putting all together as a sentence, I got stuck... I kind of imagined something like, "far away from my understanding" even, I mean, even if you're talking with someone face to face and you look like friends, your real hearts may not be close(like, you may dislike the other person you're talking to, deep inside your heart), so I was kinda guessing 'a woman whom I can't understand' or something.
Anyway, thank you again for enlightening me.

So, yukio_michael, do you get drunk often as well?
