Hmm so you can be ironic and sarcastic with my comments and insinuate on my personality and what not and I am not allowed to make a little joke on a silly comment comment by a member that was everything but modest. And did I say something untrue? England and Germany have never been known for their charm, that has usually resided with italians and french here in Europe. And yet you take the liberty to say sarcastic things 2 me like what a great European and what not. Shoot, we don't even know each other for you to judge on my personality. I on the other hand merely commented on the quote of a member, I didn't talk about him personally rather simply judged his assesment. I dont see why it should not be allowed for me to poke a little fun to someone who himself opened the door with a little arrogant sentence, though maybe jokingly. I don't get what took over you, did you have an abnormally warm weather that got your spirits boiling or what?

It's called a joke. So young and so sour....

Just let it go man ;)

And who are you to judge ,if I was not being modest anyway?

But you shouldn't make jokes like that to often you might seem racist.👍

Well this is a public forum and when u write something here anyone is free to judge your comments. And like I said... i only commented on your phrase not on you personally; you opened yourself to that kind of replies with your comment.

I picked "maybe" because it's all about love!
We are all different, so it may work, but it also may not work.

I dated for a short time a Japanese guy, but I'm pretty sure I was more a trophy than a gf to him. It's kinda sad ^^;;;
He said he didnt want to have a long distance relationship and so on, the same lame excuses, and then we almost stopped talking.
When I said him I was going to go back in Japan this summer, and this time for a long time, he acted nice and he asked me if we could meet again.
"Of course, for a coffee IF I HAVE TIME" I answered A____A
You lost your chanceee baaaaakaaaa :p hehe!

Is that like a metaphor or .......... ;) ?

Since I'm new here I'll jump right into this.
Everytime I'm up in Osaka, I always see TONS of white males with Japanese females. Personally, I know many American men who are dating Japanese women. I don't know many American women with Japanese boyfriends. I have my own speculations as to why this is, but I'd like to hear everyone else's thoughts.

Because white women are not interested in Asian men. Japanese men have a bad reputation for watching porn openly in convenient stores, and also for buying sex without shame. I love Japan, but I would never date a Japanese man, even one that is westernized.

Serious generalization here, I know of quite a few "white" western women that are married to Japanese men. Oh and please DO NOT group all "Asian" men with Japanese men. You come across as a racist when you do.

Japanese men have a bad reputation for watching porn openly in convenient stores, and also for buying sex without shame.

Ok so that may be true but you have a very shallow knowledge of the people and the country to using that as a basis to "judge" an entire country of men.

I love Japan, but I would never date a Japanese man, even one that is westernized.
To each his or her own.:-)

Oh and if your "sex"
Male.gif
is correct how in the hell can you assume what "women" want or don't want as you are a "male"? Unless you are possibly homosexual?☝

It depends on the couple in question, and yes love.
(Is it just me or is it that everytime I come on here this thread just keeps reocuring over and over again, and by the same people?)

It is true that it is all about love. There is nothing I hate more than the, "You're stealing our men / women" mentality when it comes to dating "outside your own race." Even though technically, we are all the HUMAN race.

We're all different men and women not just by gender but by how we were raised by our parents, our culture and our own beliefs. I can say that when I started out dating someone who was Japanese it didn't seem like such a big thing. Maybe it's because he spoke English and we were in my country. I can say now that it is harder when we are in Japan. I think that is the hardest part more than anything else. I hate to say this because it may sound mean, but here my husband "is" Japanese and he does things that make me crazy! It's all because of the culture here, and when we are here, especially Tokyo, he falls into the mode. By his parents in the country, he is relaxed like when we are at home. I have gotten used to the fact that he gets home really late, but the later he gets home the nicer the place we go for dinner. I am not saying that I expect that, but I know not to expect a "sorry for being so late." I have learned that his actions speak louder than his words. That's a hard thing for me. I too would say love is the perfect reason to be with someone and the love can conquer every problem. I am wiser now and know that love helps, but it takes more. I don't know where I am going with this, maybe I am now seeing that being a mixed couple is harder than I thought.......

If you really love or like that person- it shouldn't matter if he's japanese, black or green. What should matter,is how you feel ^^
So yeah,I don't mind japanese-white relationships XD

I completely agree with you. 100%. Sure dating outside your own culture might seem a little weird and it may be hard to accept the culture of the other person if it seems really weird but, at the risk of sounding corny, love conqures all, doesn't it?

I think dating outside your culture just adds a little more spice to the whole thing
😌

Yeah, that's what I think too. And it's a great way to accept other cultures into your life. For an English person to date a Japanese person, it is a good way for the English person to learn about Japanese culture, and for the Japanese person to learn about English culture.

I chose maybe on the poll because for some people dating certain races works for them and sometimes it doesn't work for others...but if you asked me what I would perfer, I would say any race because what matters is love and not the color or the race on the outside. I'm pretty open to culture and many other things. I guess it was just the way I was brought up.

I voted what are you talking about man
cause I dont see what the big deal is. Its only a problem if you make it one. Currently im with a japanese girl but its not like i aimed for it to happen this way and let me say i NEVER decriminate when it comes to women haha. If a person only settles for one national or race they are cutting out a big % of the great women availible. I can say more people have had problems with our relationship then we have but thats fine im not bedding down with them. For me if things end with my girlfriend now i wouldnt say no to another Japanese girl, ive got no bad memories from this one.

Say, is someone dating with alien 😊? Or probably with Mars man :) I don't know how about you guys, but this one almost killed me ,really 👍

But back to the topic I can say only the same as Margosana told. But, eh ,what I know , I'm still a kid ...

what my problem is all the Japanese girls i talk to are Buddhist or Shintoist and religion is a big problem for me im pentecostal christian and there aren't many people practicing this religion i found a girl in California who's 16 and her names maikou. and age thing is big too i have like nine girls that like me but all of them are older!

Religion can be a problem for some people, which makes relationships involving different cultures hard, but if religion is not an issue to you, neither should the culture be. If religion is an issue, fair enough.

Religion is a joke. Im a Roman catholic and when my parents married my dad had to change to it. I come from a family where quite literally we are all Roman catholics as where our grandads and their dads and so on. But wth any girl ive ever talked to on the topic of kids or anything like that ive always made it clear that they can do what they want but my kids will be catholic for reasons i wont go into. In Japan they see wars in the name of religion and other such things, so to many of them they see religion as something that is not needed as it only causes problems. Ill never change my religion for anyone but at the same time ill never force my own on them either. But i think at 12 years old its not something you have to consider seriously yet ;o)
have some fun first and learn about the world more, once your open to it you can decide on such matters better.

Excuse a personal question, but surely wasn't it the personal style of your parents in conducting their relationship which led to that? Because my partner isn't a Catholic, but if we were to get married, he would not be required (either by me or by any 'rules' of the religion) to change to Catholic... as long as he can prove his understanding of what it means to go into a marriage, that is okay and enough.

I don't mean any offence towards your parents :) just clarifying that it's not a 'requirement' when marrying a Catholic person that the other partner changes religion. ☝

Ill never change my religion for anyone but at the same time ill never force my own on them either.

That is an attitude I can understand. 👍

Sorry, this has gone a bit off-topic from 'dating different races'. :sorry:

It has a little bit. It has changed to religions. Religion shouldn't be an issue when dating other races, because other races can be the same religion as you. Like it has been said before, surely love plays a part. If the person you are with is, "the one" and they are a different religion, do their beliefs really matter that much to you?

For me, the answer is "yes", because a person's beliefs are part of who they are. I want to know about them because they are obviously important to that person and have played a part in shaping their life up until that point. :) However, just because my partner might be a different religion doesn't mean that we're not compatible spiritually and culturally. For example, my partner is a pagan (I'm a Catholic), but we have a lot of beliefs and practices in common and say prayers and share meditation time together, which strengthens our relationship and enriches spiritual practice for both of us. :-)
