Is there a good way to go?

Hey since we already have a thread with the greatest fears with many people referring to death why not bring up the question if there is a good way to die and if yes what would it be.

Personally I would like to leave the face of the earth with a bang (not speaking literally ^^), something worth beeing remembered of either while dooing something regarded as heroic by society or acting as a counterpart for such a heroic person.
But as I don't want to die I don't really think ,that there is a good way.

Agree. Your heart stops beating, your breathing stops and you aren't even aware of the fact that you'll die. That's how my grandfather died.

Well actually you do if you look at it from a certain point of view suicide can be regarded as a choosing your own fate.

Anyway the person wants to I guess. If it's someone who wants to suffer then let him or her, as for me something like dying in your sleep, anything without pain would be nice.

When I was a little kid, maybe 6 or 7, I heard someone on TV refer to sleep as 'little slices of death'. Since then I was terrified of going to sleep until I was old enough to realise that going to sleep is nothing like dying! Every night I would read until I could no longer keep my eyes open, but if I was conscious of beginning to doze off I would bolt awake. No wonder I'm so neurotic!

I always had this idea somehow that dying by freezing to death is a peaceful way to die. i know this sounds strange, but it's because you are cold indeed at first (duh), but it is known that before you die, that you get a peaceful warmth and don't feel cold at all anymore and that you then fall into a sleep and eventually die...

I always thought it would be great to die a hero. Something like save 20 children from a burning building and as you bring the last one out, you drop dead of a massive heart attack. Being "sexed" to death by all the beautiful JREF women would also be a great way to go, LOL.

Hmm, to give a serious answer to this thread this time around:

How do I want to go?
In self-sacrifice from a world better than it was at my birth.

I don't really care about the specifics of dying and type of death. But if I knew I was going to die soon, like from an illness or disease, I would gather close family and friends and make a last picnic on some green, deserted hill in the mountains, eating and talking and sharing until the last moment when the time to lie down in the grass and never rise again comes.

Then they'd better plunder all the organs they can use and turn the rest into strawberry fertilizer.
