Hi,

I get this error when I try to post images: "You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made 15 posts or more". I already have more than 15 posts but I still can't post images so, does this mean that I need to have started 15 posts to add images?

BTW, before having reached the 15th post, I've been able to post images before, but now I can't anymore.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers.

I think it was 25, but he obviously should change the message. But he obviously didn't change the message.

It's 20, I also wondered why I couldn't after 15 posts and asked the admin Thomas and was informed that after a recent attack of major spam and abuse the limit was changed to 20.

Thanks for pointing it out, I have updated the message accordingly.

Thomas...maybe the message shouldn't say exactly how many messages you need...but rather that you just don't have enough messages to post photos yet.

That would keep spammers guessing. If they are dedicated to posting their crap they may very well post x number posts just to put their crap up.

But for non-spammers this would be a problem! they would post 10 posts, and wonder when the hell they can post images.

(It's been pretty quite with spammers the last 2 weeks I think)

Excellent suggestion, thanks!

I don't see a problem. The message would tell them that they don't have enough posts. What is the problem?

That they will wonder when they can post images, and we'd have to tell them anyway.

Why? There is no international law that would require that you tell them. Point is, who absolutely needs to post an image before say 25 posts?

J-rockers.

I'm just saying that not knowing will cause them to ask, and when they do, what do we tell them? "That information is confidential?"

Not that I'm completely against the idea of keeping the information hidden; I had actually thought of it myself. I think that Dutch has a point, though.

Indeed, and this means that there will be a lot of threads, where people ask, when can I post images, or I can't post images.

25 x 2 minutes = 50 minutes. This should be long enough for you guys to report a message, and for a mod to check in and clean the mess I think.

I don't know, but with this post (as it is open to even non-members) they can easily guess how many posts you need. If the trolls want to spam, they will keep posting until they CAN post links.

Agreed, but as Dutch indicated, they will have to spend an awful lot of time to spam effectively. And I am ready to extend that period of time. Whenever necessary.
:-)

well if someone asks then they probably arent a troll besides this thread will serve as an answer for awhile...

problems with posting more images

Hi IndianSukhoi, how r u?

Well, this forum works like that of the DefenseTalk Forum, where you have limited capacity to upload images within limited size.
At CMF you can post images without limit and a size up to 1 MB each image.
I hope they fix that problem because it took at least 1 week or so at DefenseTalk Forum when they reset my upload capacity :(
