Someone must have been really annoyed by the LDP:

Early Saturday morning, a man in Tokyo launched a series of attacks on the headquarters of the Liberal Democratic Party. Using a minivan, he drove up to the building and threw several incendiary devices, causing damage to one of the police vehicles stationed there. The suspect then attempted to ram his van into the prime minister's office but was prevented by a fence. He also tried to throw a smoke bomb onto the grounds but was stopped by police. When searching his van, police discovered a large number of flammable objects, including poly tanks and additional incendiary devices. The suspect has so far refused to comment on the allegations against him.

I hope we'll eventually hear what drove him to the attack.

Someone annoyed by politicians and political groups? How can that be?????

On a serious note though, it is continually concerning that people think the best, or possibly only, way to deal with those they disagree with is by using violence. :(

It's like japan is slowly morphing into America, where people think the only way to deal with stuff here is with violence… God help us all.

I am in no way condoning what they did or any sort of violence against politicians but if things are bad enough, if the status quo goes on forever, and people feel nothing ever changes it's easy to see why some people react this way.
But then again, there once was someone egging a politician because he said he didn't like cats so....
