I might try this today after cycling:

According to a sports medicine expert, increasing the amount of blood in your body by drinking milk after engaging in somewhat strenuous exercise is effective in preventing heatstroke. Hiroshi Nose, a specially appointed professor at Shinshu University School of Medicine, mentioned that this practice could help build a body capable of withstanding summer heat. While frequent hydration and staying in air-conditioned rooms are recommended as heatstroke countermeasures, Nose also emphasises the importance of making the body resistant to heat.

The key is blood volume. Doing "exercise that feels somewhat strenuous" for at least 15 minutes in the morning and evening, when temperatures are relatively comfortable, and then drinking a glass or two of milk within 30 minutes increases the amount of blood in the body. For those who do not like milk, yoghurt is also effective. When blood volume increases, the body's ability to adjust its temperature improves, and heat dissipates easily through sweat from the skin's surface, making the body more resilient in the heat. [...] He added that if one continues exercise that feels a little tough and drinks milk for one to two weeks, blood volume will increase by 100 to 200 milliliters. Nose drinks milk after walking briskly for at least 15 minutes daily. His body has become more resistant to the heat, and he is spending the summer comfortably.

Not always, but after a ride** I make a smoothie with a mix of banana, milk, protein powder, frozen blueberries, and yoghurt. All that fills the blender container, probably about 750cc, and the milk might be 350cc of that (does the yoghurt count as milk?).

I've read in the past that chocolate milk, on its own, is a good recovery drink.

**my rides are usually 100-110min, and I only push as much as this old body will allow-- just what "somewhat strenuous exercise" is might be open to different interpretations.

Idk that sounds like a good way to get sick for me but I'm pretty lactose intolerant so 😂😂😂

I knew of milk being used by some as a post workout drink but this is the first I heard of it helping with the body being able to resist heat. Interesting. If I go hard enough I also do some kind of protein shake post workout which may or may not include milk.
