Need to find someone in Okinawa

Hi,
I'd like to know if there's anyone who could help me find someone in Okinawa , or if they moved elsewhere. I have their names and the address they lived in back in the 1950's. I'd appreciate getting guidance/tips on how to go about locating them.

I'd appreciate any help anyone can give about my search - I have been looking for my half-brother for over 30 years now. Here's the information I have of him:

Name: TAKASHI YOSHINO (aka ARTURO ESCANILLAS)
DOB: December 1, 1952
Birthplace: Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands
Last known address: #906,5-Han , 3-Ku, Jagaru, Chatan-Son,Okinawa
Mother: Shizuko Yoshino
Father: Celso Escanillas
My brother was born out of wedlock. After my father returned to the Philippines, and with the consent of Ms. Shizuko Yoshino, he tried to petition my brother. Unfortunately, the U.S. government, which was governing both Japan and the Philippines at the time, rejected my father's request on the grounds that my brother, a baby, was an undesirable alien.

There was unconfirmed information that Ms. Shizuko Yoshino got married to an American & migrated to the U.S.
If this was the case, another possibility was that their names were changed.

I've looked up Takashi Yoshino's name online, but I could not find any match (probably because of the name change, if it happened?).

I also sent my DNA to Ancestry.com in the hope that there's someone related to him that would match my DNA, but it didn't yield positive results either.

Any guidance, suggestions or lead would be greatly appreciated.

Wish you luck in your search. I didn't find out I had a half brother until I was almost 50. My sister Googled his name and up popped a newspaper article saying he was a school principle in California. We contacted the school and as things worked out , he came to visit us in Maine. His only interest in us was if we had any genetic illnesses he should be aware of. We informed him none known and the next day he returned to California , never to be heard from again? I hope if you find your half-brother , it will go much better and be a joyful reunion. I hope your search here leads to a successful conclusion.

Thank you for your well-wishes. It may not have been a very joyful reunion for you and your brother, but he still flew to Maine to meet you. Maybe the feeling of abandonment on his part never healed? It's so hard to judge.
In my case, I'm hoping my brother grew up well, that's what I'd like to see most of all.
I remember my parents talking about him when I was little, that if my dad was able to get him, I'd have a big brother to protect me and chaperone me to parties when I got old enough.
I promised my mom I'll look for him, and despite my parents having both passed, I will continue searching.
If, like what happened in your case, he's not interested to have anything to do with me and my siblings, at the very least, I hope I'd get to know what he and his mother's situation had been, and how he's doing now; and I would've fulfilled my promise to my mom and find closure.
My difficulty is now knowing exactly if they left Okinawa, and if they did, what names they have now.
Anyway, you have a Happy New Year, wishing you the best in the coming year.

Your best bet is the dna. Hopefully one of his progeny takes the test. Upload your results to gedmatch as well.
