Your pronunciation

Please say the following words:

Train
Trick
Tree
Trophy

Now here is my question. Did you pronounce the "tr" part as a "t" and an "r", or as a "ch" and an "r", like it was chrain, chrick, chree, etc.?

I and everyone I know pronounced the "t" as a "ch". Which makes me wonder why its spelled "tr" instead of "chr". Of course that would mean that "christmas" would need a new spelling, such as "Cristmas" or "Kristmas", which, me being a lover of consistency and logical flow, sounds fine to me.

I suppose we could also ponder the mystery of why the verb is "pronounce" but the noun is "pronunciation". Where did the "o" go? I have pronounced the word "pronunciation" as "proNOUNciation" all my life, and even though I learned it was "incorrect" a few years ago. I am just too old to make such a minor change in my speech. I got more important things to focus my concentration on.

I can happily say that i pronounce the words correctly - as in with a T - not a CH

You and everyone you know are not alone lol. I think that super correct pronunciation is not very important as long as the accent is good and you simply sound natural. I'm Polish and all my life before junior high I thought that the word "jabłko" was pronounced "jabłko". When in reality it's "japko". xD
