win98se can't detect cd writer drive

My cd (not dvd) writer can be detected in DOS but not windows. I noticed this problem only this morning. What should I do? Is there any file that I need to replace?

A symptom: When I started Nero Burning Rom, I got the following message-

The WIN-ASPI file '?.?' can't be found, and therefore you can currently only select image recorders.

The missing part is part of the Windows95/98/ME files. Please fix this problem and restart Nero.

(Error 12: Init Failed!)

I would suggest re-installing your drivers for your CD Writer. Make sure you choose the right drivers for your CD-R and Operator System.
