if you could see the black chocolate we use here for cooking, you would loose your breath I think

Sounds delicious! :-)

Hehe, if I was a chocolate fan maybe I would have gone to Belgium for my supplies long before! Very famous for chocolate! There is the shop Thornton's in my city, which sells continental chocolate, very luxurious. :liplick: Unfortunately I don't think UK is famous for any food in particular... even chips are French fries, lol... except Yorkshire pudding maybe? and Devon cream? although I guess they are "regional" foods really! :p

(thank goodness I discovered that smilie! --> :liplick: )

I think you mean "Devil's food cake".... :devilish: ...... Is that English?! I never knew that! 😲 *sighh* I'm so culturally ignorant... :D

Of course! Roast dinner! Hmmm..... I have not eaten a roast dinner since I was about 11 years old... I think they die out... my grandparents used to have them.

I thought High Tea only belonged in Enid Blyton books! Hmmm... I wonder if ginger-beer is English? :?

Are you sure you're english????? or British?????
Bangers and Mash, Bubble and Squeak!

*long sigh*
I just don't eat the right food... :(

We used to have sausages when I was living at home (there was a specialist sausage shop in my home town! My fave was pork and apple, closely followed by chilli bean sausage and tomato & basil :liplick: ), but not bangers and mash. What is bubble and squeak? :o

Is Toad in the hole English? :? My nan made it once...

I sure don't feel very English. I think I'm a throwback!

Staffordshire oatcakes. That is good British food. They look like pancakes, but are made of oats. You roll them up with melted cheese inside. Yummy.

This one has bacon too I think. Where I live there are shops that just sell oatcakes. There's one in my street.

What is bubble and squeak?
Fried up leftovers - mainly cabbage and mashed potato.

OOOHHHHH Tsuyoiko! Can you send me some of that! I will have mine with Bacon!
I tried very similar ones in New Zealand. Wow, thats making me really hungry.
I can send you kimchi.... (not a very good swap, sorry. hmm I will look for some vegetarian food items in the supermarket).

My flatmates back in NZ (all British) would buy 'bubble and squeak' patties from the supermarket, just for the novelty. Not as good as the real thing, I havent had it with cabbage before. Sounds interesting however....
