Tsuki no Uta (song of the moon)
 
That one's been out for a while. The Lu:na/Oasis single was released 2 weeks after, and I think the mini-album is September 21st. I own the two new singles and the covers are pretty sweet. I think the Lu:na/Oasis single cover is reversible.

Tsuki No Uta, which c/w Hoshi no Suna, is for people who like more slow ballad-type songs.

Lu:na/Oasis is just a single with two of Gackt's awesome rock songs. Honestly, after hearing Lu:na when I listened to it from the MOON album, I was curious why that one wasn't a single to begin with.

Anyways, I just find it amazing that whether it's slow or fast, Gackt composes great songs. That's one of the things that impressed me about him.

Not that he's the only one. I seem to recall a 'Pink Spider' who was pretty good at composing different kinds of songs.
 
I've just started listening to a few Jpop artists (Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru), but I'm a big Jrock fan. Malice Mizer, Moi Dix Mois, Eve of Destiny, Lucifer Luscious Violenoue, Kana, deadman, Blast, Schwarz Stein, Vidoll, Earl Grey, X Japan, hide and Gackt are some of my favorites. Emphasis on Malice Mizer... I'm... quite obsessed.
 
I had I feeling I was late once again. But I liked most of the songs on the single "Tsuki no Uta". My fav. one was Tsuki no Uta._. Hoshi no Suna was good too.

Waai! My favorite artist would most definately be Hyde from L'Arc~en~ciel. He's my first j-pop love! lol. He's very kick a$$.
 
I just started to listen to L'arc-en-ciel music and I like it a lot. My favorite song is Dive to Blue.

The best is Malice Mizer, Moi Dix Mois, Eve of Destiny, Gackt and Klaha. But his solo work went to Jpop, I still love him too! His voice is great! Especially Chamereon no seppun is very nice.

Ok now that was kind of a kick in the face for a Gackt fan. All of us fans love his music as well as the person himself. What is there not to love about this artest? He is a wonderful person and very careing. His music can sometimes be depressing but he has his pick ups. I speek for all of the Gackt fans here.

 
My favorite J-Pop artist must be Ayumi Hamasaki couse I like her music very much, bought some of her cds when I was over in Japan but they look so nice in my record shelf that I haven't taken of the protection wrapping on them ...
 

Gackt fans... or fangirls?

Musically and vocally Gackt isn't doing anything revolutionary. There are better vocalists and better musicians in Japan and i don't see them gaining the same popularity as Gackt.
Gackt owes a lot to his looks. There's no denying that fact.

lol, oh and by the way, I'm one of those Gackt fans that got hooked to him by his music first, not by his looks. *hear's fangirls everywhere gasp*
 
Ah..... now I'm a Gackt Fan too! I like him mainly from his Talent and Looks!
 
I find Gackt's songs to be very original. While he may not be doing anything 'revolutionary', he continues to compose amazing songs that are totally Gackt. The only time I have ever heard a large similiarity in songs was the similarity between "Wasurenai Kara" and "Secret Garden". All other songs are totally unique to themselves, except for maybe a few minor similiarities. However, I haven't found those similiarities yet.

While Gackt's popularity can be attributed to looks, lots of people look beyond his beauty (I don't know i that was the best word for a guy to use) and respect him for the singer and person he is. As a guy, I respect him for his musical talent, not for his looks. I have noticed most guys that I met who listened to him weren't fans based on his looks, save for one guy that I met at my school. But that's for another day and another time.
 
Almost every guy I show who Gackt is they always tend to hate him.
 
when I showed my fiance what Gackt looked like after I had him listen to the music for a couple months, I feared he would be turned off.

Sure he said Gackt "looks very girly", but after a while he began to like him more because of his appreance. ^^;

more in his solo carreer, and less in his malice mizer dress.
