Who are these dancers?

I was recently in Kyoto at the Yasaka Jinja Shrine. There is a stage on the grounds. These ladies, along with a person who appeared to be a teacher, were dancing on the stage. Three sides of the stage were covered and no one was watching them. We just happened to see them. They are not "traditional maiko" - at least not by their dress and hair. Can anyone tell me more about them?

Their dresses are the ones that were worn in Heian era or around. Those bottoms and the layers of jackets(?) were what Japanese palace people wore. It gradually simplified to the present Kimono, omitting the pants and keeping just one layer above.
So, I assume this is some sort of palace dance of that days. Maybe ﾅ津慊静溪?｢窶?Gosechinomai), seasonal dance to celebrate the day of ﾂ静?seasonal days, five of them in a year). This picture looks like they're for spring, judhing by the color of their clothes. Those were usually danced by the young daugters of the high class family (in those days of Japan).

Maiko is a professional women, and more recent tradition.

That's a dance named 窶ｰYﾋ??窶堙娯?｢窶麓Urayasu no mai] performed by 窶ｺﾃ楪鞘?納miko] "shrine maiden". 窶ｹF窶扼ﾂ催票Kinensai] "A ceremony for prosperity and good harvests" was performed in Yasaka Shrine in March 17. Probably that's the one.

As in the explanation in the wiki page linked above, ﾅ津慊静溪?｢窶麓Gosechi no mai] is performed in 窶ｹﾅｾ窶徭ﾅ津､ﾂ焦?[Kyoto Gosho] "Imperial Palece" only in 窶佚･ﾂ渉ｦﾂ催票daijōsai], i.e. only when the new emperor's accession nowadays, therefore the official one is quite rare and is not shown to the public. Although it's performed for the public every few years. The last time it was shown was in November 2011.

Thank you so much for the replies. It seems that we were quite lucky to have seen them practicing since we were no longer in Kyoto on the day they performed. How might I obtain a copy of the video? Is it you personal video?
