White skin in Japan


You have no idea how ******* hilarious it is. You are of course correct.

I find it so funny that white women are willing to tan themselves to look exotic, like they have to "appeal" to white men. You have all these "gangster" wannabes that won't date outside of white yet act the exact opposite of white, and women who do the same. Both the men and women blast themselves with UV rays and end up looking like carrots and yet are all : D about it. Stupid faggots.

I hate them so much. And it turns out that they do so much that I'm paler than some of them.

My favorite ones are bleach blond **** tanned girls. How ******* much do I hate them.


For some reason, maybe it's the way I act or that I don't fit in with the American supposedly typical Indian, I've been told that I'm actually white with Indian parents. I'm hairy, no two ways about it. I've learned from an early age never to give two flying ****s what anyone else thinks about you. If you feel like waxing because you think you will look better, not for the benefit of others, then you should do it. I put my hair in a ponytail because it looks better that way on me, not because everyone else will like it--everyone else wants me to get a hair cut. I've been offered money and drugs.

Going out into the sun and getting a light tan is perfectly healthy. I've been doing it for all my life and my skin is as smooth and healthy as ever.

Besides, I'm of the mindset that possibly aging a little faster is well worth it for a life well lived. Hiding under umbrellas and staying indoors and worrying about my skin tone holds nothing to a day at the beach or canoeing over a lake and all that good stuff.

I have this ugly tan that I hate alot so, I personally think that it is beautiful.

Bah, I don't like the sun. I hate its heat, the fact that it causes me headaches and that it blinds me. I'll just lurk in the dim sanctuary that is my room.

And how! It was hot here for the first time in a while so, of course, all the white people were out in shorts trying to soak up what sun they could. I saw some pale, pale skin, this one woman was so white I had to look twice because I thought she was wearing makeup, but no, she wasn't. She was just 'Canadian white', which, according to my brother is 'a different kind of white'.

Also, a fair skinned, redheaded friend of mine was complaining today that he wished he could go out in the sun and tan but he peels so bad he has to stay inside. So, trying to cheer him up I mentioned that in some places people like white skin, to which he replied 'the grass is always greener, isn't it'. (I'm starting to think he's right.)
 
as a note. the picture in the middle, is a japanese visual kei jrocj band...and those are all male. yes guys male they dont use whitening cream they just kill makeup and its not photoshopped (this i know because i'm into the genre and they do live performances lol) but they do wear alot of makeup to hide thier faces and incorporate a feminine look so that their gener can be confused (not gay..its just fun..and gets you noticed). you should not that they are male and even point out the use of pale makeup to create a feminine look and make them androgynous though...(think think that is malice mizer..not sure i could most definatly be wong but one thing for ure its a visrock band and hence male ^^)
 
I think the natural tint of color in any woman's complexion is absolutely lovely... A perfect setting for the lovely eyes of Asian women... I saw a lot of Japanese people, mostly guys, sunning themselves in the park last week. I felt like warning them about skin cancer, but I figured they already knew. My doctor told me to stay out of the sun, it's not good for me. Besides suntans accelerates aging of your skin, and you'll end up looking like that wrinkly guitarist for Rolling Stone.
 
I was always taught too much of anything is unhealthy, so to me the extremes are irrational. A little sun is good for you, but too much of it is unhealthy and dangerous. Protection from the sun is good(living in sunny Australia I would know), but avoiding sun completely is also unhealthy.
 
Bright light!

I`m an albino, which means I get to take care under the rays. When I see people sun bathing, I can almost hear the roasting sound! Bloody herd think! Don`t get me wrong, I love a sunny day but I`m putting on the factor 2000 and finding some shade. Mad dogs and Englishmen out in the midday sun...:music:

Lolz..well back then it was according to skin whether your poor or not..cause poor people worked alot outside doing all kinds of jobs while rich people stay inside n be "fancy" n all ..

But now its just wanting white skin. "beautiful" so it seems which is true..but you see mexicans and spanish girls...or islanders (polynesians) and more who are very beautiful and brown..

But everyone in different countries are different..asians do like white skin..i do too to be honest hehe. xD
 
TI think Japanese people are better with there real colour skin.They are unique and so everybody else all around the world.
 
First off, I'm a new member of this forum. I have been looking for a forum like this and I am very grateful that one exists!

Back to the topic, this thread reminds me of something a read a few years ago. "Uguisu no Fun", or nightingale droppings, are used to cleanse the face and also tint the skin at the same time. It was used by the women of the Imperial Court as well as currently used by geiko and maiko.

It's for sale to the public as well. Honestly, ever since I found out about this I've been burning with curiosity!

Personally I like my pale skin. It contrasts nicely with my dark hair and eyes. That said, I wouldn't mind a bit of a tan, but I don't tan well at all. I just burn.

Same thing in the Philippines. Most of the popular movie stars both male and female are light complected, not like the average brown folks who drive your taxi or bring your pansit and San Miguel beer at the corner cafe. In the PI I think the light skin thing dates back to Spanish time when all the rich, high-class families were pure Spanish or mixed Spanish/Filipino. The darker you were, the more low-class you were considered, just as some have posted about the Japanese attitude.

Paleness has always been very valued in Japanese culture, for men and women alike.
Paleness is associated with social status. The rich are white and the poor are darker.
In call of duty you face soldiers, that's why they are a darker. Also, most of the fighting takes place on Okinawa, Okinawans are darker than Japanese.
 

Yes, paleness has always been valued but how many people could afford, or had the luxury of tending to their skin and using lightening products on a regular basis?
Back in the day that sort of thing would be for the wealthy and privileged only, which was why it was a status symbol. Today, anyone can go to a store and find affordable skin brightening/whitening products at a cost nearly anyone can afford.
So you have, in the case of a country like Japan, a nation of people that are significantly paler than years past due to increases in wealth and the ready availability of certain skin products and the general lifestyle where more average people are able to spend more time indoors than out in the sun instead of that being something only the rich or noble could do.

If you compare photos of old time Japan to modern Japanese you notice the different right away.
 
uh...I'm not Japanese so I think it's different...I'm very pale too though I don't have dark hair and eyes. I want to say that I'm glad that I'm pale...I hate the new trend to look super tanned and anyway...I always burn in the sun -.-
 

I disagreed with you only because you said that they ''all'' looked darker back then in your other post. You can notice the difference right away only with pictures of lower class people.
