When a company answers a business call, would this sound funny or correct or how would you answer it.

おでんはありがとうございます。これは （Steve）がはなしたいる。

That's right.
It is basic to answer the phone call within 3 times.

お待たせいたしました。○○会社の○○でございます。

Don't use これ to refer to yourself or a person.

Use Nagashima-san's suggestion. It's formal but that's expected when answering a business phone.
