What kanji is this?

I've been working my way through a four page document and have managed to recognise/ look up most of it, but I can't figure this one out, even when I try looking up what I think the radicals are.

目の前が白く？われ・・・ (I can't copy and paste because it's a picture rather than actual text.)

It's actually 网 abbreviated, meaning "net" or "snare". It's sometimes called よこめ because, well... I think you can figure that one out.

I'm confused, where is the 日 or 网?

覆う is made up of 西 and 復

Whoops. Yeah, it's... well, closer to 西, at any rate. 新漢語林 says it's 襾, which has a meaning of "lid". Crap... it's been a while, and the font on here isn't helping.

The top part is 覀, Kangxi radical 146 西. And it's easier to remember it that way. It's classified under 襾, which itself is classified under radical 146.

Because the original 覆 used 襾 on top, and all Kanji dictionaries still follow the Kangxi classification despite the evolution of Kanji over the centuries.

Probably the OP said that she couldn't make out this 日 (and therefore couldn't make out the kanji 覆).
