Question here regarding the above linked thread. Does a thread, such as this one linked here, which I also reported as a "bad post" for being problematic fall under the guidlines of being SPAM here on this message board?

I believe it fell under the definition of SPAM after the OP felt the need to repeat a rather lengthly post that added absolutely nothing to the discussion other than the obvious desire to SPAM the board.

I will say it is a rather clever SPAMMer but SPAM none the less.

The information contained in the thread itself, while humourous at best, and possibly interesting to some here is also boderline racist, not to mention being blatant SPAM.

Thanks for checking this out.

I agree, I noticed the thread to and wanted to comment on some of the stuff, but at the end I decided to wisely keep my mouth shut to this person, so not to get involved.

If a post strikes you as being in violation of the rules (not just spam), it's perfectly reasonable to use the report post button.

I like being liberal.

I figure if it has anything to do with Japan , no matter how vague, what the heck. Spam to me is blatent selling of a product without JREF permission or trying to get money through some weird scam. I believe if the post is crappy, it will die from lack of replies and fade away. If you keep replying to a hopeless troll like post, trying to get him/her to see your point, expect to be frustrated. I guess I'm just against censorship of any kind. Just my personal beliefs, not JREF's or other mod/admin staff's.

Thanks for your honesty in replying. I truly appreciate it. I'll just ignore it and or let someone else deal with it.

I have seen another Mod/Advisor post on the thread so evidently anything goes. Thanks again.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but the moderation here seems to be at times more lenient on spam-like posts than elsewhere...

Double post deleted. It is not a matter of "anything goes" but rather one of not having enough time to sift through and read line for line every new thread that's created since last logging in... If a member sees any spam then please report/let one of us know because we may not catch it initially.
