Hi
Maybe this topic sounds weird..
i was wondering about the western toilets style !
How can someone do it while he is Sitting !!

Also,I could not imagine how people use only rollpaper without water !!
what about the bad smell ? =_=

Sorry but i could not ask my MSN friends lol

Here the Arabic toilet seat is like this :

this way is easier and cleaner.
we use Rinser to clean our selves...

My Japanese friend told me that Japanese toilet has Rinser too but the seat is like western with Rinser.

It's somthing i cant keep it secret anymore ^^"

Hummmm? Ever wonder why.............................

America has so many pet cats and dogs , LOL.

Uncle Frank

:D :p

I'm curious how you can keep your pants dry with such a contraption. And no toilet paper?

I couldn't use that one. After two knee operations, squatting is no longer an option.

By the way, does this topic really belong in Serious Discussions? :-)
i find it serious :D

I think this is a serious topic too ;-)

I can't imagine using an Arabic toilet. Can old or disabled people use it? My knees hurt just thinking about it :D

However, I do find it extremely distasteful to think of sitting on a public toilet so I always hover :D

A lot of people here need to wash afterwards too. Some people have bidets. There's also moist toilet paper or baby wipes ;-)

As for the smell, I guess we just put up with it here. Public toilets always stink.

lol it's understandable...
we have one western toilet seat in my house because one of my family is fat and he can't use the arabic one lol...

something else, how can people use this in puplic ? i mean men :

about the smell,I cant use smelly toilet and no one dare here lol

lol @ this topic! :D

The Arabic-style 'hole in the floor' toilet is found in Japan and in France as well (and I think some other European countries but I can't vouch for it exactly). However, both places also have 'Japanese-style' and 'Western-style' toilets too. The 'hole in the floor' is generally a bit more downmarket so I guess maybe it's a cheaper option to have fitted?

I love the Japanese toilets with the built in water spray as I think it is much more hygienic than just using dry paper, and it feels nice too. 😊

In mainland Europe I think bidets are pretty common in people's homes. I WISH we had them here  it would be so much better. It's kinda hard to wash your a$s in a basin that's waist-high :giggle:

I don't have any problems using the 'hole in the floor', but I can imagine when people get old it must be a bit difficult if you have sore knees etc. (Or even if you just hurt yourself...)

 Kinsao, you are VERY honest 😊
you are right though 👍

By the way,Where do you throw the paper after you use them ? =_=

hehe, you're really crazy to post like this thread man.

so in my opinion the two toilets are good , but when you go to WC , you need to feel some relax and feel like ,i can't explain. So arab toilets gives you this good feeling than western ones .

GREETING

Sitting is more comfortable and you're not gonna fall over either. As many have pointed out, squatting is uncomfy.

I am however quite accustomed to the bidet feature and it will take some getting used to if/when I return to the West, as we don't use them over there.

One thing I think is important is to know the role of each. Toilet paper alone, water alone, neither is really effective. You need both IMHO.

Paper.. takes care of most of it..
Water.. well water is water, its for returning your rearend to that fresh-outta-the-shower condition.

Having just one seems ineffective to me..

We fold them over and use the other side to blow our nose.

bwahahaah

fold it once more and you've got the perfect size to dab the corners of your mouth after a meal.

The new ECO 'movement'.

The biggest defect I see in this Arab toilet is:

Where is the magazine rack, and how do you read when you're squatting down and hanging on to a showerhead with one hand?

LOL, I also actually thought about how difficult would be to read in that setup. Good to know I didn't take the crazy pill all by myself.
:D

LOL this is another weird thing,How can you read while (....) !
We dont take books to the toilets !!! It's like insult here hahaha...
When i was watching ( Alliens in America ) series and Justin was reading magazine in the toilet ! i was like Haaaaaa !

I will care about cleaning my self rather than reading :D

@Hezam: just throw the paper into the toilet! (it's really thin so it will dissolve easily in the water)

Blehhhh I can't read at the toilet! I just want to get business finished and leave! o_o

habeebi hezam

this is the weirdest and most AJEEB/GHAREEB internet thread I have ever come across in my entire experience with internet forums.

asalamu alaikum

Lol Yes it's :D
But i was questioning my self about it for along time and i found the right place to settle my doubts.
I was shocked when i heared that No water in the western toilets, and the first time we got one of these types i was young and i was using it like the Arabic one ( Legs on the margin ) :D

This may invite more detail than I really want to know, but I can't help but ask:

Without paper to dry yourself, do you really just pull your pants up over your dripping rear-end?

historically, the arabs always utilized something to wipe themselves with. they would utilize rocks or leaves, or they would use their hands and of course wash their hands and rear ends to the point where they removed the contaminants (najis) from their bodies. But now, they utilize toilet paper. So they don't reject the toilet paper, but from our viewpoint, both wiping and washing entails perfection.

We fold them over and use the other side to blow our nose.
eeuh
that was nasty man

Honestly, I don't know why toilets in the US don't have that little squirt of clean.

The best of both worlds is water and thick enough TP to dry.
