Hello everyone!

I've been looking around the site and participating where possible, and felt it would be a good place to share my hobby - my video blog about Japan!

The videos are just about my regular, everyday life here as a foreigner dating a Japanese and working in the games industry. I also often get a Japanese person's perspective in the videos, so if you're curious, check it out! It's called "Yokohama Station".

Here's the most popular episode so far, episode 9 - "Japanese Costco"

Also on Facebook, if that's easier!
Yokohama Station

Thanks guys! Hope you enjoy it!

Funny side note, the police came and stopped us as we filmed the stop-motion intro. Thankfully we had enough to use for the series (we weren't breaking the law).

Was hoping to add this to my original post, but not sure how to edit, so I will add it here.
I made a proper trailer for the videos!

That's all!

The previous link is broken and I can't seem to fix it. Sorry for the mess, guys

Hey dudes!
I see people are viewing the thread, but it's awfully quiet - so I'll just say thanks!
I don't know if this is against policy or anything (I looked around but didn't find anything), so I won't make a habit of posting links, but for now, here are these:

Here is the fixed link for the trailer (we re-mastered the sound!):

And here's the latest episode (Published Feb 7):

Anyway as I said, this is just a hobby and I am not sure how long I can keep it going, but for now, enjoy!

I was reluctant at first, but I went cherry blossom viewing (hanami) in Tokyo and it was great!

I made a 5 minute video about it.

Good stuff. Nothing to be reluctant about. Now show us part 2 -- the part where you are doing "hanami" on blue tarps under the trees -- drinking to excess and forgetting to even look at the trees while you eat, drink and be merry.

Aw man, I didn't wind up doing that this year!
I do realize the way we did it was totally non-standard, though...
maybe next year

Hey everybody! A little bit of news. One, we've released another episode!
Riding the train, shopping, and visiting a temple to the god of commerce.

Also, we've added described audio for the visually impaired to 3 more episodes in our iTunes feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/YokohamaStation).

Anyway, always look forward to comments and feedback.

Have a great day!

Been awhile, so I just thought I'd pop in and give this a bump. 3 episodes have been added since the last time I replied to this thread - here is the latest! Tokyo station, Japanese vending machines, and getting lost - all on the way to Tokyo Disney Sea!

Hey guys! I don't usually share every single episode we make here so as not to annoy you, but the Disney Sea ones are kinda fun, so I am going to link them here. Check them out if you feel like it!

DisneySea (Arrival):

DisneySea (In the Park):

This almost didn't get made because we've been so busy with the Vive, but here it is! More Tokyo Disney Sea awesomeness!

There was a lot of interest about the Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku, so I am posting the video we made about it here! My friends made the video, I had to work ; ;

Hello ladies & gents!
This vlog will be winding to a close after 1 more episode.
I won't say it's over, just that next week will be the end of season 1.

Anyway, here's this week's episode: Getting a haircut in Japan!

Hello ladies & gents!

I won't say it's over, just that next week will be the end of season 1.

Anyway, here's this week's episode: Getting a haircut in Japan!

I miss my Japanese haircuts. Here I pay about $10 (w/ coupon) +$2 tip. But in Tokyo there was a "school" near Setagaya where you could get a haircut for about Y1500. They would pre-wash the hair, cut and then wash it again and then style it. Compared to here where they wet it down and cut. They'll style it but it's pointless because you have to rush home to wash out all the hair bits.
The more expensive haircuts in Japan will include a scalp/shoulder massage. I also went to a barber once who did the entire cut with a straight razor. You could do many more episodes on hair alone.

I'm really torn about them, honestly. When I can find one of those cheap 1,000 yen places that can do my hair just right, it's fantastic! But when I move and have to find a new place, it's really hit or miss, and the expensive places (like the one in this video) put a little more effort than I need into my haircut

Thank you for watching.

Hey everybody!

Our latest and final Yokohama Station video is finished. We explore the high speed bullet train (shinkansen) in Japan. The bathroom was my favorite part

This concludes season 1 of Yokohama Station, so I just want to say thanks to everyone who watched.

Here is episode 35:
