Usage of 癖に "くせに"

all I know is that it means something like "in spite of", but I don't know how to use it in an actual sentence

It is often used in a derisive manner.

初心者のくせに、何言ってんだよ。

You're just a beginner, what are you saying?

Add the derisive mood to it, and more accurately it becomes something like, "You're just a beginner. Who the he11 are you to be talking?"
