Hey BuDZ, can u pls tell me how many interviews are taken for MEXT? And, is it possible to apply for the scholarship throuth more than 1 university? i.e. can I apply twice in the same time?the university did not specify any ranking with regards with my application.
they just said that they accepted me in their program and i have to apply to MEXT to get a scholarship.
however, they were confident enough to say (or maybe boast) that all their recommended students in the last 25 years were accepted by MEXT. I hope I will be one of those students.

Being able to apply twice for the same scholarship at the same time doesn't sound likely.

actually i was also trying for toyohashi university of technology , for the special masters program in english , and my other option was hokkaido university , i was short listed for both and chose hokkaido because of the status of the university , its old and an imperial university , toyohashi is a new university ,

I have been authorized as a grantee of Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship under University Recommendation, and admitted as a Master's course student to enter Graduate School of Engineering at Toyohashi University of Technology next October.

I did not have any oral interview. All selection process at Toyohashi University of Technology is based on documents only. It is very unusual... as far as I know, it is not the case in other universities like Hokkaidou Daigaku.
Anvit Tranvankar applied to both at the same time; I know he had a phone interview in the latter, I am sure he can further explain you what the interview was all about.
I was not interviewed.
