For a TVholic like myself, I watch a lot of shows (but not on the networks), mainly sports and documentary shows which I can't get enough. Here's some offerings that's sure to appeal to geek in all of us:

Mythbusters

Watch away, fellow geeks!

:D

Mythbusters = win.

No idea about the other, or rather I don't think its possible to see it here in Japan.
Would love to watch it tho

I think I've seen them all at one point or another, but my favorites are Dirty Jobs, How it's Made, and Modern Marvels. It's just so funny to see Mike Rowe complain about and then fail at most of the jobs he tries. 😊

I've seen some of the Discovery Channel programs, such as the ones on Eurotunnel (used Japanese tunnel drilling machines) and Kansai International Airport construction, as well as the one on a hotel in Dubai and the tallest building located in Malaysia (if I remember correctly).

No time to watch TV these days, but I love them! 👍

Jeff...I love mythbusters and Extreme Engineering...haven't seen the others, except for a few minutes of Dirty Jobs.

MythBusters lost it's flavor. Most of the newer episodes are no better than MTV's Jackass show, which I saw once or twice back in junior high.

I don't know why, but I love How It's Made. It just keeps my attention by showing processes for things most of us have never even thought about. I'm also a fan of Mythbusters.

Thanks for the responses, folks! :-)

Clawn: Yeah, How It's Made fascinates me no end. I often watch in wide eyed wonder as all manner of things, from Twinkies to cricket bats to coin changers and hockey skates are constructed. It's just a remarkable show!

👍

I prefer Ghost Hunters over Paranormal State. PS assumes that all the calls they get are paranormal right from the start, whereas GH goal is to disprove, or debunk, the supposed haunting or paranormal activity.

I used to love Mythbusters, the first season or so, now they are just dumb...not as inventive and I don't like the additional people on the show.

Basically, though, I like all the science type shows, they are much better than so called "reality tv". :)
