Anyone hooked on it? Is it showing anywhere besides here in the states.
I've heard it described as "Giligan's Island" meets "Twilight Zone". I GOOGLED
it last night for Lost forums and it listed over a million sites? That seemed like a large number of Google hits for a new tv show shown only in the US ? The season finale was last night, a 2 hour one that left as many questions as answers. I find most TV boring , but this show catchs my eye.

I have watched it a few times here on AFN...but I'm not hooked on it. I will watch it if it is on, but I will not go out of my way to make sure i see it.

I stopped watching anything on the networks (save for sports) waa-a-a-a-a-a-a-ay back in 1991, so I'm lost on Lost. The majority of shows on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, UPN & WB is pure crap anyway, so I'll stick to what's on cable (especially ESPN) and my DVD collection.

its soooooooo good. everybody loves this show. its one of the best shows ever on tv. you gotta watch it from the begninging!

I watched the first four shows, but it was the whole flash backward, flash to the present thing that I disliked. I still catch it every now and then, I just don't go out of my way...it is a decent show though.

I only watch it because some to guys are sooooo great looking *drools* But the plot can be hard to follow at times. I think it's a decent show, though.

Well, if you say Lost is a good show, I'll take your word for it. But I avoid anything (except for sports) on the networks out of principle.

Besides the junk factor, I got so damned sick and tired of investing my time and emotions in shows only to see them jerked around from one time slot to another or abruptly cancelled because they didn't attract enough viewers to satisfy the suits in the network's ivory towers.

After awhile, it stopped making sense to give my loyalty to the networks. So beware, once Lost fails to attract viewers, it'll be yanked, quick, fast and in a hurry, no matter how much fans love the show. You have NO say regarding decisions on whether shows live or die!

I know what you mean Jeff. Usually I won't sit and watch while they are on anyway. I record the shows and watch them when I have time...fast forwarding through all the BS commercials and stuff.

My husband asked what the cliff hanger was.....I said, "There were about 4 different ones!!!" That's what I love about the show. The details (like the ship) don't bother me...they have to take liberties here and there... Looks a bit like they have stolen the old pirates theme from other movies now that we know what "the others" look like. My idea is that one of the ships that was sucked to that island were pirates from long ago and they survive by kidnapping younger survivors and recruiting them into their pirate culture.

The creature/machine thing I have no clue about! Maybe a "Island of Dr. Moreau" thing there! The show is a conglomeration of the best of island/survivor themes! Very very kewl!

sports? ew. play them dont watch them that's my motto

lost isnt a normal show you guys. its not an "who gets with who" or "who hurts who's feelings" type thing. its different from any show ever on tv. the plot is amazing. its almost sci fi.

the flashing back and forth is great. i HATe flashing back and forth but its done well in this show and shows such freaky things from their past.

it's not normal. its like going to a psychic and every week is like her telling you something mysterous. its wow.

i've never heard anybody ever say anything bad about the show untill i saw some of these posts! damn you all !!!!!!!!!!!!! haha =o)

I started watching it in New Zealand, has just started in Korea, but missing it again coz at the moment im in SE Asia... dont even know what a tv looks like
I enjoyed what I did see of it, the korean version is dubbed, makes for hilarious viewing, especially when the real koreans on there are talking, and the americans are replying to them when in reality they have no idea what the koreans were saying hahaha! Oh dear.... water has just run out, and I have 29 hours of travelling before I can have another shower, now im lost.

I've always wondered if the non-English lines are well translated or if the two actors are just talking amongst themselves about dinner last night or some other nonsense! *LOL*

Don't Know If They Still Do It ?

I was amazed with dubbed shows when I was in Japan such as Bonaza;the voices they used sounded just like the real actors voice. Ben & Horse sounded perfect, only speaking Japanese.

I watched it.. i think it was really nice, and it has a large variety of characters in it...

Haha, yeah the bit I especially liked was where the Korean guy was trying to attack the Dark guy for 'stealing' the watch... realistically how was the dark guy supposed to know what he was yelling in an inchoherent language???? Unfortunately I missed the part where the wife came out and spoke english saying that her husband had no idea... what do you think they could have said?? haha. Also when he tried to talk to the little kid, in Korean they were having a great old conversation, which was funnier because the kid had this strange confused look on his face the whole time.

.
I have just a different view. Their is no Island, that nice, and so full of vegatation,
anywhere in the world, that isn't being visited by 10-40 boats a week.

The world is full of people, who have boats, money and sail to almost anywhere.

Well....

We know the bad guys got their hands on a boat somehow. Maybe they stole it from the French science team the crazy lady came to the island with?
