for my japanese two class we need a topic for an oral presentation near the end
an 'object' that is unique to japan and new to us

i am pretty familiar with japan, but would like to hear some suggestions from you all. i have already submitted the onsen as a possible topic, but my sensei does not think that onsen are necessarily unique to japan

any suggestions would be fantastic. how about the name of those little wooden dolls? cylindrical body with a head on the end?

suggestion o kudasaimasenka?

How about hanami? I've never heard of that anywhere else...

If it has to be a noun, you could talk about origami, kabuki , noh , etc etc.

But I've never heard of a)+b)+c)+d) event where people, young or old, male or female, rich or poor, gather, either.
