We have six (a)kinds of coins in Japan. They are the 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, and 500 yen coins. We see them every day, but can you remember their designs? Let's look at the 5 yen coin (b)carefully.
There are (あ)three things on (い)it. We can see a rice plant. We can also see a (c)gear around the hole and the lines under the hole. Those lines are (d)water. All these things were (う)[choose] for the design of the coin in 1949.
What can we learn from these things? A rice plant means to grow rice. A gear means to make things in the factories. Water means to (e)catch fish. These show (え)the three jobs many people did in those days in Japan.
Now let's turn the coin over. There are (お) young plants. They show that Japan started (f)as a new country after the (g)war.
Don't you want (か) look at (h)other coins in your pocket or your purse?

Hello, Hirashin
For question 6 number 6 I can't understand what is supposed to fill in the blank. If the answer is "I", it is not a complete sentence. You would have to end it with, "every day" or something along those lines(this is an expression meaning something similar or alike in meaning). After translating the sentence I realize the answer is "Let's", that is fitting but, it is confusing.

Jinko,

I think "Let's" (go) clearly conveys the idea of "行きましょう ". Please remember this is a test for people who speak Japanese, not the other way around.

Ah, I see. Have you used Google Translate to translate from Japanese to English? See if you can use Google Translate to translate 行きましょう into English.

Thanks for the help, Jinko and Buntaro.

I've finished grading ("marking" in British English?) the exam papers of the one I posted here.
Just awful! The average scores of the three classes I teach are 34, 36, 25.

Most of the students I teach this year are not motivated to learn English at all.

But I'm glad that there are a few students who are working hard and got a good grade.
The highest score among the three classes is 94.

Would you please correct my sentences if needed?

Thank you.

Hirashin
