Wow thank you! I am so delighted that this blade has Japanese writing. I was worried it was just rubbish after looking at Kanji characters for a long time.
Especially @Majestic I sent the photos of this blade to a group that authenticates old swords and signatures. They responded that this is very likely to be a Sue-Bizen Norimitsu in katateuchi form. They are going to inspect it in June and if it passes inspection it will be certified as authentic. They believe it was probably made around 1600 or so. I would never have been able to find this group without your translation assistance. THANK YOU!!!
