Star Wars Revenge of the SITH

Dang! We're going to see E3 in about 26 hours from now.
I can't wait. It was pretty easy to get tickets for since
our town isn't too big and they've got it on 4 screens.
At least one of those gets transfered to another theatre
across town after the midnight showing. We saw E1 & E2
at midnight too. We were too young to do so for 4-6.
Something we've always wanted to do. "Star Wars" coming
up on the screen like that had our theatre cheering and
chills running down my spine. I'm a geek, what can I say.
Sure they weren't as good as the older films, but they
were kids movies. Whadja expect? It's a modern day, err,
futuristic, err long time ago...., fairy tale with a moral of the story.
Don't give in to anger, or something like that. Or, like any art,
draw from it what you like. You've gotta admit, you liked
the pod racing the first time you saw it. And E2 was just
sooooo sci-fi with the giant beasts in the coloseum.
Man, I better get some rest otherwise my crankiness
might lead me to the dark side at work the next two days.
HA. Sorry for the rant. peace yo.

Well, one of the places here will be the FIRST to show it...since they got an advance showing reel and since we are one day ahead of the states...one theatre is showing it at 12:01am to ensure that they are the 1st (big whoop!) They are using this as a selling point so that people can brag saying that they were the first to see it...
I could care less myself!

In Japan??? You're kidding! Where! Ahhhhhhhhhh! I need to see this movie!

They have a copy at Yokota Air Base (they are the ones showing at 12:01am) but they also have a copy here in Okinawa , and a few other spread at the other bases in Japan.

"I just got back from SW3 !!! It's AWESOME !!!!!!! If u're a fan u'll have a wet dream after seeing it Really, it was the best of all movies in my opinion !! A must see, that's the least to say !!!"

Glad to hear it lives up to the expectations and the hype. Now I just have to stay away from this thread for two more months, heh... 👍

On that note... for those of you who have comments or want to discuss specifics about the film, please try to remember to include the ***SPOILER*** tag in your posts since this film won't be released here in Japan until July 9th.

Star Wars: A Lost Hope

You've gotta check out the spoof on this page

SEQUENTIAL Pictures.com | Star Wars Episode III: A Lost Hope

I actually know of a guy who might still live with his parents.
But he's still a super nice guy.
I know, jokes.
Another worked at a plastics factory and made Stormtrooper
outfits during work. It eventually got him canned.
He was actually offered a job with Disney one time at
a convention and Turned It Down?!? Can you believe that?!
Oh well. Wasn't for him.

There was a time, about early-mid 90s when I was kinda
anti-Star Wars/Lucas/much of American culture. Turned
out it was just pop culture I loathed. As for SW during
this time I heard that Lucas had based it on a Japanese
flick, and the samurai -type helmet of Darth Vader.
I thought, what a rip-off! Can't American culture come
up with anything original!!! Then I heard more about
the possibility of 3 more movies and the latter stories
(after Anakin) not to be turned into movies and kinda
forgot about the Japanese influences. Then heard
"the force" was kinda based on "eastern religions"
('the force' is actually an officially recognized religion
in Australia, according to BBC) and started to think,
"kinda cool", for some reason. Maybe it was because
one of the Beastie Boys was Buddhist or the statues
of Buddha look kinda cool. I don't know. I'm not too
big a BB fan or anything. Own none of their records.

Anyway. "Influenced by" or "based upon", as long
as they are acknowledged sounded kinda decent.

Episode 4, the original SW was based upon, by
Lucas' acknowledgement, Akira Kurosawa's "The Hidden Fortress"
with 2 lower class comedic characters (R2-D2 & C3-PO)
helping a general (obi-wan) and a princess(Leia) to cross enemy lines.
I have yet to see this movie.

Anyone who has viewed the documentary "Empire of Dreams"
included in the DVD extras probaly knows this stuff.
I have a bad habit of ranting online.

Buyakasha!

when i clicked download ididnt work, but oh well, as for the force that sounds cool but there are some people trying to get the UN to recognise Jedism as a religion

Just heard on the radio that there are already pirate copies available on the net. One of them was on the net yesterday

I have seen the Star wars III on some torrents yes! i wont give them sorry! waist of this movie, to give it!!

Sabbath day.

The reason George Lucas probably won't be involved at any seventh episode Star Wars and so on is because he rest at the seventh day, hey, he's adhering to the sabbatical law remember?

Anyway. If there's any extra Star Wars movie post Episode VI, it probably would be based on one of those Expanded stories where aliens from another galaxy attack and also where Chewbacca died. Besides, the illustrations of Anakin Solo (Grandson of Anakin Skywalker, son of Han Solo and Leia Organa) looks so cool, he's dead at the end of the story though.

Anyway. I don't know if the transformation of Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader is quite good though.

Personally, from the beginning, I would kinda expecting of Padm?? after giving birth to both Luke and Leia, she died in a separatist attack and Anakin don't know on the whereabout of his children or even if they existed.

Anakin goes out crazy like he did when his mother died, then Palpatine offered Anakin a way for all out of this nonsense, a way so that no more this kind of sadness would occur, Anakin voluntary agree.

Hey, that kind thing happen all the time. Good people who are fooled into doing something not nice.

I haven't watched Episode III, but with some references have Anakin choking Padm??, it doesn't seem quite right though. But it fit quite nicely with the vision Anakin had in the test featured in the Volume II of the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars (I forgot which Chapter it is, I think that it's around in Chapter 22~24), where his power (the ghost hand) while might be powerful and capable of defeating his and his people enemies, it ended up destroying his own people. Luke see a much similiar thing, only when he cutted Darth Vader's hand, he realized that he almost becoming like his father. Episode III is probably meant to be a comparison of Episode VI instead of the events that later on become the events in Episode VI.

Going to see it on Wednesday, although my brother gave me a few spoilers by saying that Anakin should have a new Nickname 'Torso boy'
Saw this in a letter in Total Film. Quite Funny
I thought Total film readers might want to read this speech, delievered by Mace Windu, which has been sadly cut from the upcoming Star Wars:Episode III - Revenge of the Sith...
"The path of the righteous Jedi is beset on all sides by the inequities of the Dark Side and the tyranny of the evil Empire. Blessed is he who, in the name of the Jedi Council and the Old Republic, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly Obi-Wan's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike thee down so they can become more powerful than I can possibly imagine, those who attempt to poison and destroy the Jedi. And you will know my name is Mace Windu when I lay the force upon you!"

Would you all believe that I haven't seen the first two, much less this last one? ☝

I have some major catching up to do.

I guess I am stuck in the past with the original three. :p

lol thats a funny pulp ficiton thingy there mycernius!, reminds me of all the old taratino movies like reservoir dogs and jackie brown...

I dont see why anyone would want to do that.

It really is a cinema watch movie.

Saw it today, absolutly amazing.
Think i may go again tomorrow.

well there are enough people to do that, just to have it!!! to dont have money for the cinema... japan is pretty expensive with the cinema i heard... other countrys maybe to....

i see enough things why people do it...

but i wouldnt.. it is a waist of a movie with this kind of love

I loved the movie. Just say it the other day. Much more better and interesting that the other ones. I like the really really evil guy. I can never remember his name but he's my favorite! The movie seemed more dark and evil and that's probably why I loved it much more than the others.
