CHONGQING - South Korea threatens to pull out of the asian cup in protest of Japans timewasting against the giants Iran which resulted in a draw. South Korea now must face Iran in the quarterfinal stage of the asian cup.
"What Japan did is outrageous, now we must face Iran instead of Japan which means an early exit. I was lucky to score against Iran four years ago, but this time around luck wont be the factor, Iran is too strong for us." Said striker Lee Don Gook.
"What Japan did was a disgrace to east asia and what we stand for. Had they not wasted time throughout the game, Iran would have won easily and we would have faced Japan instead of the persians." A korean fan told AP.
Iran who played without several of its key players dominated throughout the game and had a perfect goal dissallowed by the qatari linesmen. Huge celebrations broke out in Tokyo and other parts of Japan when the final whistle came.
"A draw against the persians was a great victory for us. Now hopefully we wont have to face them until the final." Said Tamada who failed to score the only japanese chanse of the game.
"Some might say that we played like cowards, and we did, but lets not forget that we faced Iran and not some arab or east asian team. This draw was one of the greatest achievments of japanese football." Zico told after the game.
An official from Japanese FA said he had heard about the threats from a possible south korean withdraw from the tournament.
"Im puzzled by the korean FA's descision to withdraw. We did nothing against the rules and we grabbed a point fair and square." Kawasaki said.
South Korea will face the three time champions Iran on saturday in the quarterfinal clash of the asian cup.

They got a point. Iran should have won the game against Japan. But nevermind, we'll beat S. Korea now instead hehe. So maybe we can take revenge in the finals against Japan.
