Hello everyone, sorry if my thread was posted a million times, but i want to learn japanese, not only cause i like anime/manga, but i love japanese culture in general. the problem is: i dont know how to get started and i dont have anyone who could help me, so im writing right now in this forum. i'd like to know what should i do, if there is someplace where i should visit or anything related.
ps.: sorry my english, poor brazilian education =/
ps2: i already know how to write hiragana and katakana and some kanjis

Just get a textbook, or take an evening class. It's not difficult to start.

The basics of a language can be studied on your own, and then a teacher becomes more necessary when you get up a little higher, and need to know what nuance something has.

where i live (small city) there aren't any japanese stuff (even manga!) neither japanese classes... im actually trying to learn on my own, but everytime some question appears and i dont know what to do, like when i noticed that "lower" 'tsu' before another kana (しっぷうでん) and i still dont know .-.

It means the following consonant is a geminate, or double consonant. There's a pause before it's pronounced. If you know music, it's like a (quarter/half) rest.

oh thanks that helped really a lot =) i searched for it but found nothing i could understand. but i'd like someone to "teach" me how to "learn", like telling me what to study. i dont have ideia of what to do first... pratice kana, learn kanji, learn words (phonetically)...
i dont even know how i learnt english, i think it was with games and music, so i really dont know what to do
