read it before. The author mentions that it's a joke at the end of the article, but it's true that it's not an easy language to learn and is at times more frustrating than it is rewarding...

Totally lame. I read that before I started learning Japanese and was a bit intimidated by it. Now I know it's not true.

The good thing about learning Japanese is that after a while things start to make sense. You don't need to rely on rote memory to memorize needless grammatical genders. Kanjis on the other hand ar quite predictable after you've gotten the hang of it. Ganbatte!

Ha! very funny; looks like there's a lot of truth in it too. BUT the good thing is that, with the language being so ridiculously complicated, managing to learn ANYTHING AT ALL is an achievement to be proud of.

(Well, anyhow, that's what I'm telling myself.)

I'm a girl, so the whole girlfirend thing doesn't go for me, but haha that was funny. OK, so a lot of it is probably true, but I still want to learn Japanese. XD
